.... the very end of last season and the way this season is going I'm getting that Scotty feeling. I defended Wilson beyond the point of reason last season and it turned out right in the end, but this year I do not feel at all sure anymore. The players have a disinterested, almost dispirited look to them which doesn't seem right. Normally inspirational players suddenly look very, very ordinary sctatchinghead .
Football basically, is enetertainment...where is it..? I also find it increasinglt difficult to relate to the manager, ..... as with Scotty, I've stopped listening to interviews and reading the managers opinions in articles.......something seems odd. sctatchinghead

It sounds like Seasonal Affective Disorder to me. Deriving no pleasure from life; loss of faith in personal heroes; grumbling; anomie; scalp abuse.
You'll feel better come spring

No, it's definitely not just you.

I said the same the other week and the rose tinted crew started jumping up and down.

The sight of Barker and Brown arguing with each other on the pitch on Sunday just reinforced the view to me.

Regardless of what is (or isn't) or isn't (or is) 'going on' or 'going down' at the moment, I can't think of a more knobbish bellend phrase then 'rosetinted', when used in this situation banghead banghead banghead banghead banghead banghead banghead banghead banghead

Yeah I mean its not as if there hasn't been a massive shock to them in the last month....

Oh wait a minute

QPR suffered for weeks after (and eventually ended up sacking the boss but I dont recommend that here) their sad loss and I don't see why pools are any different. I dont think the effect of what happened to Maidens can be underestimated.

There is no comparison between Danny Wilson and Martin Scott

I am amazed even a single Poolie with at least half a brain can make such a statement

I'm with you too Snowy, been thinking the same for weeks

& I'm sorry it's not Michael Maidens - I haven't seen a decent performance at the Vic since the beginning of September - nearly 3 months ago

Something definetly isn't right!!!! confised

Some players don't seem interested....some are playing shite when we know they are much better!!!! confised

Is it Mr.Wilson???? sctatchinghead

To me he's fannying about with the team too much....chopping and changing....playing people out of their better positions etc etc....for no reason that we can see!!!! confised

Is all this rubbing off on the players???? sctatchinghead

It would me like!!!! confised sadx

I'm begining to come down with 'Scottyitis' with Mr.Wilson....and I don't really want to!!!! confised confised confised

Half a brain is better than no brain... denial or delusion solve nothing. Anyone who knows me on this board will know I stuck up for the bloke last season, but I don't just carry on blindly giving them my backing regardless and will not hesitate to say so when I believe it's warranted. Comparisons are odious and when we have people saying that at this point last season we had the same points, same position etc, etc.... and then look what happened.... sorry, it doesn't work like that.
Somethings wrong....the crowd is so dispirited and indifferent that the regular whingers around me can't even be arsed to shout abuse.
Now that's a sign that really does concern me because that does show that indifference is emerging.

I think comparing Wilson with Scotty is ludicrous but DW is pissing a lot of people off big style at the moment, and if he is pissing fans off with his tinker tinker approach then he is bound to be getting on the players nerves.

I'm keeping me trap shut about Wilson for now, altho I certainly didn't last season :uhoh: but I don't like him and we are suffering under him just like many fans from other teams that he managed said we would...

The reason I pulled this post out, was because after three and a half months, nothings changed apparently in the managers approach. Just a dogged determination to plough on regardless with his way of doing things...

The funny thing was, that with Scotty, you could see the end of the road with his reign.... this is like a long tunnel and I don't see no light.

looking at this situation we are in if you had a very close squad of players that fought for each other and a man in charge seems to take exception to that and starts splitting people up and moving people in and out of designated positions for his own amusement or even if he did thinks we could do better another way surely you are going to upset one or two of those players who in turn look to their mates for solace or advice and possibly they think we were ok as we were this is not working
that group that you are trying to break would and should become a tighter bunch and the man in charge would lose control

I don't know what's going on up there, but you could do with a couple of wins to steady the ship.

what?

let me read it again slowly.

to me this makes it sound even worse as they should perform for themselves then and not the gaffer which they are failing to do.

So then Ian, if I understand you correctly, you are saying that the players are not performing to the best of their ability because they want shot of the manager. Is this a fair summation of what you're saying?

no John i am saying as others have said through the threads would you put your back out for a manager that seems incompetent and looks as if he has lost the plot " when he is using us as a fitness centre for other clubs"
at the expense of our own players i am saying it is a possibility but not fact

Ooooh, Salty, this sounds a bit worrying
I don't like it when people say things like this on the message board. What if they're in the depths of despair and everyone thinks they're joking? Like that time Dibble said he didn't want to get up ever again....
