We certainly won't survive in the same form if Mr Ripper finds Mr Wilson to-night

Weve got a chance only because of Bournmuff and Lutons predicament.

without the 10 points deductions of those two clubs, I wouldn't even be asking the question. It wouldn't even be a question - relegation would have been just a matter of when. A shameful state of affairs.

does anyone think Wilson already has a hunch he's going to get the bullet, so he's only going through the motions at present?

I' not bothered whether I know or not, I'd just like to think he's not going to be given another chance next season at Pools.

I don't think we'll go down this season.

But next season looks bleak at the moment.

If he was just going thro the motions it would be OK tho wouldn't it?
As in, 'X is the best left back so I'll pick him' or 'Y is the best left midfielder so I won't leave him on the bench'. If only he were just going thro the motions......

Exactly. I was going to reply to this but mr chip has put it better than i would have.
It's all about expectations... if Wilson is always talking about the playoffs in the paper how are we supposed to feel watching the 5hite that is served up?
Meanwhile the players pick up their massive pay packets and go off to their massive houses in their expensive cars all smiley and happy after another defeat......

the owners werent pumping a million pound a year into the club in the 70's though were they ?

i used to get the bus home back to shotton after games.

paul staff used to get the same bus home, one day i even had to lend him money for the bus fare.

he was playing for pools and i was watching them, and we were both on yts schemes and usually broke.

there was no expectation back then cos the players were just working lads like us, living in the same communities, and usually doing the best they could in difficult circumstances.

most of them never knew if they were getting paid from one week to the next.

there's absolutely no comparison with the current day, where millionaires pull their boots on once a week and go thru the motions.

one has to wonder exactly how many games mr dawlish and mr pooliekev have seen at the vic this season between them.

i suspect the figure could be counted on one hand and possibly one finger.

people are unhappy because of a lack of effort, application and explanation. and they have every right to be unhappy.

We seem to be trying our best to go down. Danny Wilson is living in cloud cuckoo land and never seems to pick the right team. As the weeks go by it gets harder and harder to relate to him, Pools never seem to have a game plan..... We are two defeats away from being right in the shite.....

Go and get a nice vodka and orange juice down you and get a facial massage.

The world will look much brighter with a cup of jasmine tea and some Culture Club CD's on your stereogram....

you suffering from a sense of humour bypass Chip?
since when did attendance at matches become a pre requisite for posting on the bunker? I've been to away games this season when you could swing a large mammal and not touch another poolie yet come back to the site and find all the experts posting their match reports from a poolsworld commentary.
My opinion is no less valid.
mind you that Poolie kev he never turns up so how can he say owt?

Hey up Mr Chip, there's been a lot of rubbish posted lateley regarding a lack of effort and that the people are unhappy about it, can you enlighten me as to who these culprits are for this lack of effort, obviously you will have to be careful or you could end up slaggin off one of the untouchables !

Well as they say Mr Chip, it's a funny old game and everyone sees it differently and has different opinions, mine are that I haven't seen anyone not trying lately, even your mate Joel has looked interested for most of the games.
I can't understand the accusations against Thompson, anything of any quality had been going down our left for weeks.
We don't have anyone to replace Boland, and Friday's midfield went to total rat shit once he went off. (Please don't any one come on and say Sweeney can play in centre midfield)
Budtz, well my first ever post was to say Budtz was the main problem with our dodgy defence, but it looks like we're stuck with him till the end of the season now.
We won't go down but the goalkeeping situation is a major concern now for the remainder of the season, with confidence between the goalkeeper (whoever it is) and defence.
Danny Boy has been making some strange decisions and substitutions lately and he's gonna stand or fall by them, but I think he'll sort it.
The other thing I don't see is the accusation that he's lost the dressing room, where does that one come from sctatchinghead

rolfl How about the 11 that pull on the shirt?! rolfl

Could any of them look in the mirror and seriously think to themselves "Yeah I've given everything this season and I couldn't have played any better".... because I very much doubt it!!!

There's a difference Mr Portsmouth between being able to play better and putting the effort in.
I haven't seen anyone not putting the effort in lately have you sctatchinghead

Well obviously not, it's not as black and white as that. I definitely think that on occasions this season that has been a part of the problem though. Just my opinion like!

No but they should play to the level they are capable of more often than not, something they are not doing

you can't just send eleven players out in a game and expect them just to play their own game
we dont seem to have any game plan other than tippy tappy till we go a goal down then hoof ball for the remainder of the game
