Butz 7 - three great saves and a howler. He seemed to have too long to stop the lame shot from the edge of the box
Antwi 7 - solid in defence but little going forward
Spike 8 - commanding first half when he organised the back four. Less impressive in the second half as Cheltenham has a few free headers at goal
Liddle 7.5 - solid game at the back with Spike
Humphs 6.5 - was exposed a times and too often was left one on two. Did ok but seemed to dwell on the ball too long and gave possession away at times
Sweeney 7 - most impressive of the midfield - ran his socks off as usual
Boland 6 - nothing impressive
Thompson 6 - put a few good balls in but not enough mobility for me
Foley 3 - can't see how he justifies a starting role away from home. Too lightweight and backs out of 50/50 challenges too often
Joel 7.5 - struggled at times but scored a cracker
Barker 7 - ran his socks off and took the knocks but seems unable to conjure a shot from the edge of the box

Subs

Craddock 7.5 - looks a really good prospect. Could and probably shopuld have scored within a minute or two of coming on. Doesn't get pushed off the ball and has pace.
McCunnie 6.5 - nothing special today

Ref 4 - how he booked four of ours I'll never know only Thompson (abusing the linesman) and Liddle (foul) deserved to go in the book
Linesman (Barry Chuckle) 0

Are you sure you were there Mr Splod, "Daisy Cutter" sctatchinghead he dropped it from the top corner.

Spike Lee was head and shoulders above everyone else in both halves

Little bit harsh on Foley, created a good chance for Barker in 2nd half

Didn't see the shot (my view was blocked) but saw Butz palm it/push it/drop it into the bottom left hand corner. Actually I think I was too generous to Foley who was awful. How many times did he back off a 50/50 ball. His control was abysmal and I can't remember him going past his man.

Although I'm only going on what I've heard, Rae is playing some great stuff in the reserves, I can't see the harm in making him a sub

I don't particularly like Foley, but he went past 3 players before playing in Barker who I do like and he should have scored.

How many times did he get past a player and how many times did he lose possession?

Hardly ever and loads, but he did cut inside past 3 players and play Barker in, who should have scored.

'Cutting in' on the odd occasion doesn't make a good player

No goals in the league, not very strong, we have better players in the reserves

He was tea bagging or tea potting or possibly trainspotting today

I bet he didn't track back as well

Mr Splod rated him as a 3.5, I think that was a bit harsh, no-ones saying he is a good player Mr Talbot Avenger.

Wehay, funny you should say that Mr Chip, he was caught flat footed and day dreaming on the half way line when Boland played the ball forward, we lost possession, they broke, Barker challenged back, got booked, and they scored off the resultant free kick and ensuing loose ball from the edge of the box. But in fairness even Mr Mouldy would have threw his cap on the weak lob cum shot.
Not many people noticed it Mr Chip but I thought I'd keep my eye on him for you. Although Danny Boy noticed it cos he got a good slagging off off Danny Boy aswel. Touched a nerve mind cos Joel gave a mouthful back.

Brilliant goal though, might not see a better one this season.

What is  that all about?

Teapotting is as much a wanky footballing term as 'two banks of four' or 'a big miss'

wanky ? riiiighhht

what term would you prefer i used ? 'stands with his fookin soft hands on his ample hips while some lesser talented YTS player fooks off with the ball ?' or perhaps 'reneges on his responsiblity to the rest of the fookin team by posing while the opposition fooks off up the other end and scores' ?

your choice.

How about 'just stood there'?, bit 'out of the box' I know, but it might be worth a try

cmon mr talbot, you should know as well as i do that unless a player runs about like a headless chicken kicking lumps out of the opposition all game then he isnt up to playing for pools.

porters 9 goals, ten assists and 2 penalties equate to jack shiit if he puts his hands on his hips at any point during the game.

not to worry. mr aido is coming to the bunker 5 a sides this week to show us how the game should be played.

thats unless the poor lamb is still injured.

In my know nowt about football brain, I've always though 'flair players' should steer clear of 'helping out' in defence, unless under extreme pressure, they give away far to many free kicks and can't tackle to save their lives

Matt LeTissier, lazt bounder, never tracked back, did very little, and so and so forth

So true Mr Talbot.......and Chip.

Since when has having all eleven players in our box defending a corner been classed as good defending?

It seems to me Pools invite pressure on themselves all the time.

Players Like Joel should be nowhere near our goal. If they stayed up the other end....the opposition would have to leave two players back marking them.

Common sense isnt it?

when have i ever said he should be back defending ? sctatchinghead i simply pointed out quite reasonably that he stands there like a 'lovely lovely person' on occasion bemoaning the fact that he's lost the ball, instead of trying to win it back. if you lot are going to have a go perhaps you could take the time to get your fookin facts right stpid

the tracking back that is, not the standing with his hands on his hips thing. he reckons he has already mastered that.

i'd agree, he's already a grand master at that, there's nowhere for him to take that talent
