I wonder if he's any good in goal?

Actually he's meant to be good, but that is according to dog molesting Boro fans so we'll wait and see.

Just got the text myself.

It's nice to see we have another lad, but I wonder what this'll mean for the likes of Mackay. He was banging them in for fun for Consett. sctatchinghead

He had a loan spell at Wrexham too - hopefully he'll do himself some justice at our gaff

With our decent goalscoring record we don't need a striker.

After the loss of Moore I still we need another forward in the squad and this lad comes highly rated as long as we do strengthen other areas (that will be the defence while Collins and Clark are missing and a goalkeeper please for the love of God a fucking goalkeeper if you're reading Danny) it could be a decent signing.

You're right Snowy - I'm struggling to remember a time when we had such problems with our defence (must be knocking on 5 years now) - if he just played a solid back four every week we'd be fine.

And if he dropped Antwi.

And played McCunnie.

And the physio stopped replacing Clark's broken parts with glass replicas.

Text from my mate who is a Boro season ticket holder:

'Center Forward. Got into our 1st team this season before getting injured. Good move, if he plays he will score'

An ex teammate of mine at Middlesbrough and one of the lads I was most friendliest with. He was a centre half back in those days (Davie Wheater was our centre forward) and a very good footballer. Let's hope he can do something for us. Oh, and he's a massive Darlo fan as well but I won't hold that against him!

So if we've signed him, i assume he'll be starting games. So who does he replace? Porter or Barker? sctatchinghead

He's 6ft 2ins and started as a centre-half. If Liddle can play there, I have no doubt Craddock can. Maybe that's part of Wilson's thinking? All of these Boro youngsters look to be tremendous footballers so why not? Give Chip and Nobodys Hero the chance to start slagging off all and sundry again! bbolt

I don't think you can think like that after the loss of Moore and Brown's injury we are very light up front this lad comes with a glowing reputation so his signing can only be a good thing for the squad. Mackay has had a few chances and as yet hasn't really taken them (like last night for example) and Foley is starting a look like a slightly better Istead with every passing game.

Err. He's a professional footballer and wants to put himself in the shop window by scoring goals perhaps? sctatchinghead

Try 5ft 11ins

According to the official Boro site anyway.

Wilson will be fuming. He was brought in to cut out the long diagonal balls.

It's difficult to be worse than Istead, at least Foley at times (with little end product) makes an impact as a sub. Istead was just gash.

Of course.

He runs dead fast and then misses.

So he does two things.

Istead scored some G-O-A-L-S for Hartlepool, something the little oompah-loompah Foley has not done at all. Still on ZERO league goals. Rae must be seething at not getting in before Foley. His finish at the end of that move the other night straight at the keeper was softer than a back-pass. He was terrified as he got near the goal, any decent player doesn't have that fear, and would have smashed it into the net from that position. The extended highlights showed how bad a miss it was.
