All I can say is I'm sorry about being a bit pi55ed off and sceptical after being 2 down after 15 minutes against the bottom team in the league..... if you weren't then well done.

I wasn't at all happy about it and I fcuking well hope neither were the players or management!

Can I just state again that if Pools play shite I will say we played shite... however, this does not mean that I am happy about it or want us to lose!!
It's because I want us to do well so much that i get so pissed of when we perform at a level so much below what I believe us to be capable of.

Why exactly is this happening, tho? You watch other sports....snooker, tennis etc and players sometimes have off-days, but they never fall below a certain level. But football teams do a lot. The way most of the team were playing for most of last night was just terrible to watch, knowing that they're capable of much more.

Then when the crowd started picking on certain players and humiliating them it all became too Lord of the Flies-ish for me.

There were people behind us whose very loud comments and derision all through the match was nauseating to hear. I can't begin to imagine what it felt like to be e.g. Jan Budtz as the butt of it all. When you've made a mistake, you know all about it without hundreds of idiots telling you where you've gone wrong.
Then at the end of the match, after we'd won, butter wouldn't melt in the mouth of these same people...not chavs either but blokes in possession of middle class schoolteacherish accents. Needed a quick kick in the b**** in my opinion

Anyway, no-one has answered my question yet of why reasonably good footballers have more highs and lows than other sportsmen.

I will happily admit that I voiced my disapproval of Budtz and Antwi during the first half last night and so did many many many others around me.

Did anyone see football am on saturday? There was a comedian on there (can't remember his name) but he was on about players getting upset about taking a bit of stick and put it very well I thought... the money they are on (and even our players must be on very good money) he said the stick wouldn't bother him, in fact he would stay behind for a hour after the match just to take the stick if people wanted him to! You could just stand there waving and saying "yeah I may be a c**t but have you seen my house - it's massive!". etc etc...

I know that he was only joking but he's kind of got a point. Are the players/manager upset about taking a bit of stick? Becasue they are in a position where they are capable of stopping it!!!!! If they pull their fingers out and play like the real Hartlepool United should and can they won't recieve any stick at all! In fact they will be almost hero-worshipped by thousands of people!!

Maybe I've gone on a bit here but I hope at least some of this made sense :laugh:

No, if I really thought the players had that attitude of course I wouldn't back them.
I might not back them, anyway for much longer. Can't or won't doesn't make much difference when bad performances go on overlong
