I dont see the point in there been a royal family at all I mean what do they do, its not like the queen makes any major decisions all she does is make a speech once a year.

I dislike the Royal Family, however I think there is more to it than a speech once a year, plus Phil is quite funny, for a sexist, racist, misogynistic, sponging, work-shy Greek!

The Queen is ok as is Phil the Greek. Princess Anne is real grafter as is Charlie boy. After that you start to run out of justification. Prince Eddie the Poofter! ok he works (kind of) but why does he get free board and lodge in the best address in London? He even gets hired help in to inseminate his wife of convenience. Even though I like Andrew I don't see where he earns his dosh.

As for the rest, the Princess Michaels et al - don't even go there!

Of course, but lets be honest, the vast majority of posts on here are going to get the same reply from me
and many others

I mean:

The Royal Family - Shite
New Comedy, ie Little Britian, Cath Tate, Miss Joceyln etc etc -Shite
Daytime TV - Shite
Upitsownarse Musicos - shite
Tories - Shite
Gordon Brown - Shite
Yoof Culture - Shite
'Hairdressers' rather then Barbers - Shite

I could go on, but I can't see any improvement, we are getting exactly what we deserve in the UK at the moment and it isn't going to get any better

I believe for every drop of rain that falls a flower grows
I believe that somewhere in the darkest night a candle glows
I believe for everyone who goes astray someone will come to show the way
I believe, I believe

I believe above the storm the smallest prayer will still be heard
I believe that someone in the great somewhere hears every word
Every time I hear a newborn baby cry or touch a leaf or see the sky
Then I know why I believe

Every time I hear a newborn baby cry or touch a leaf or see the sky
Then I know why I believe (why I believe)

He can save us from the doom of another struggle in the 3rd Division, and return us to our rightful place in Division Four.

I just typed that with my nose, while the nice men in white coats were busy tying up the back of my straight jacket.

Sack the royal family and replace them with the Blair family as they were above mere motals.

Don't take it personally!

But I think the Royal family do more good than they do harm and it just seems to be trendy to diss them nowadays- especially by "trendy" teachers who want you to believe that it is normal to be a faggot and that lesbians can make a baby without a bloke's help.

I made a baby with a lesbian.

She said 'I'm a lesbian...'

I said 'I'm not..'

She said 'I want maintenance...'

I said 'go and ask a bird...'

Then I shut the door. Effortless...

People keep saying this, don't they, but when you press them about what good the Royal family do, they say something like..'well.... um ....Americans come to see them.'

Myself I couldn't care less whether the Brenda and Co exist or not.

So Grabec, what would you propose to replace the current system?

Make the PM Head of State?

Elect a seperate Head of State above the PM?

If you have an elected Head of State would they be accountable to the PM or vice versa?

What powers would you give an elected Head of State?

Would the elected Head of State sit in the House of Commons?

Or in the House of Lords?

Would you still have a House of Lords?

Would you trust the House of Commons to have unopposed say in every aspect of Government?

Or do you want to flush centuries of tradition down the toilet just for the sake of it?

If it aint broken...

We pay waaaaayyyyyy too much in tax, yet we have a royal family worth billions.

We pay waaaaaayyyyy too much in tax yet MP's get given handouts to tell lies about having a second home to get their mortgages paid off illegally.

We pay waaaaaayyyyy too much in tax so that Gordon One-eyed-scottish-bastad Brown can bang on about his Working Tax Credits even though a huge percentage of what is paid out is fraud and another chunk of it is wrongly calculated- and all of it encourages single parents and discriminates against two parent families.

We pay waaaaayyyyy too much in tax yet give one of the fastest growing economies in the world (China) £50m of tax money.

We pay waaaaayyyyy too much in tax in order to give free prescriptions to non-native residents who have never contributed to the system.

We pay waaaaayyyyy too much in tax to fund Government think tanks consisting solely of pro-poofter organisations to tell us that kids should be told in junior school that sucking another guy's knob is normal behaviour.

But let's just blame the Royal Family eh.

Well for starters, the current government stopped the House Of Lords being the safety net of the legislation they make. So they get their own way.

I refer to my earlier answer regarding reading the Daily Mail.......

I would really like to see one example of a school that teach any of the guff you have just spouted....

And the 50m could be a sweetener for the possible work they could send our way, or should we just ignore their manufacturing might???

Get a copy of today's Daily Mail Mr Avenger and read what it says about the "groups" who the Government have consulted about this type of cack that they want everybody to believe is normal.

It's only 45p, fill yer boots.

The point is that it's not the Royal Family who are the problem.

It is the elected representatives who are the problem.

And you are proposing to increase their power.

Do you follow?

The point I was sort of making was why are these elected representatives in charge, and not the Royal Family.

Littlejohn? Fucking hell, that bigoted idiot will say anything to fit his own agenda. The top example is the view of one MP, not the party he stands for.

Come and meet some of the minor royals and upper class twats that attend my Uni and see how noble and valid such a traditional institution still is. The Royal family has its own interests at heart first and foremost, and it's stuffed with toffee-nosed elitists who wouldn't look at someone from Hartlepool let alone speak to one in the real world. Before I left home I didn't know such types of people existed and I didn't really have a view on the Royal family, but 3 years on I'd be a happy man if it was got rid of tomorrow.

I think you will find that silky Gordon, the next big thing, that you will all vote for even though he's a FOOKIN DISASTER as an International Statesman, has just walked away from the Peoples Republic with 200 BILLION snodgers ((c)Mutley) in his sky.

Now if that doesn't mean he's been bought by Hu Jin Tai, errrmmmm.....I think you'll find he has. But hey, we all know that Britannia Rules the waves........ stpid yawn2 yawn2 yawn2 yawn2

Keep voting for the party though. Just remember that I got here first....

Would a 'President' Blair have been much different from a PM Blair though? And does the Queen make any difference at all? She's not exactly a 'way of doing things' is she?

And that's the problem. I'd like the Royal Family to be replaced but with what? That I don't know. No system is perfect and it would take a more astute political strategist than me to offer a viable alternative.

But, I ask again....since the Royal family performs no political function at all, why do we have to replace them with anything?

True, true. Some see the Royals as arbiters of the government and a safety check and balance of its power, but for a long time they have merely been a figurehead to attract tourists to the country. Nothing more.

Do you remember 'Ugandan relations' and 'Eysenck zat zees discussion 'as gone on long enaff' or is that before your time? And Claud Cockburn...those were the days

As for the rest, the Princess Michaels et al - don't even go there!

...I know she's not, but that's the joy of it, the head of state is not a politician, she's a nana...a rich one, but so what. FACT ...under this system I can oppose the government without opposing the head of state, they're seperate.
the alternative is some git in a suit...worse still, a politician
I quite like eccentric government like this.

p.s. ....don't think for one minute that a republic would replace the old line of succession, if Hilary got elected as president, two families would have governed the USA for the last 24 years
