could ave been a premiership game, except the same language comes from the players not the sideline, i dont know how or why they (refs) accept it.......lets be honest if your a ref and rooney (or a nother) tells you your a Wkr,arsole etc etc (im sure you get the drift) then card him straight away refyellow refred why would you put up with that shite !!!!!
and unfortuanetley (cant spell that) its an accepted part of the game banghead banghead why ? the rugby lads are far more respectful (and dont go down as easy)
and ................................ive never swore at a game bbolt

After my first four games (when I first started to officiate) or so. I set out my stall to never take any of the crap that other officials seem to take.

If it comes my way, I deal with it there and then. The rest of my game is sorted, unless of course they still think they can get away with it. However they are soon sorted again.

This is not meant to make me feel or look good, clever or anything it is just the way I officiate. It's the same for both sides, management and spectators alike.

I have to say, I wouldn't ref Sunday League. Fair play to you, but dealing with some of those people isn't nice. Especially when it really amounts to being the best at f***k all at the end of the season, not many of them can kick a ball but they would threaten folks - just to say they were the winners of something that really doesn't mean much to anybody but themselves

We played at the latter yesterday and it was a scary at times
and we had you down to ref us only to find it had been changed. The game would have been so different if we had you as the ref. They would have been a few of these about today im sure, i considered walking off today it was that bad. refred

I've had you more than a few times to know that Frank. No swearing or you're off! It seems to work.

I find a lot of the younger refs tend to get intimidated far easier than the more seasoned ref for the obvious reason that they're not as used to it. A lot of refs also struggle, though not for a want of trying, because they simply aren't good enough and thus come in for stick that is unwarranted in the circumstance. At the end of the day, if it wasn't for them we wouldn't have local football. I worry that in a few years time there won't be anywhere near enough refs because of such attitudes.

I remember when I first started playing sunday morning football for the Jacksons Arms at the age of 16, still in school and had only recently given up playing it at a very good junior level. My first game was in the cup against one of the Blackhall teams and, as a proponent of the beautiful game and playing as a silky winger on the left wing, I hoped to come in for an easy ride. Unfortunately I was up against a well known Blackhall defender who, from the off, promised I'd have a broken leg before the day was out and kept whispering in my ear 'I'm going to master you boy'. Not very pleasant and needless to say I didn't have the finest of games!

What a prize tosser that bloke is/was as a ref. Never leaves the centre circle, munches a burger at half time and doesn't even know the rules.

One cup game, we were drawing 2-2 with a few minutes remaining. He gave the opposition a dodgy penalty. Their player took the penner, it hit the bar, came back to him and he tucked it away without no else touching it. The twat gave the goal and we were knocked out of the cup.

I protested big time and he said "I've got this badge (refs badge) which means I know the rules nd you don't).

I later found out he had to get to the Steelworks club for 12.00 in order to receive his beer chits, so didn't want to play extra time.

I could still ram those chits up his arse six years later. rage rage

We had alvin a fortnight ago, he was his usual self, never runs and always in the middle of the pitch.

Our team is pretty good discipline wise, we accept decisions and just get on with it, no point in having a go as the ref wont change his mind?

Saying that I got sent off this season banghead

We leave the chewing of refs to old past it has beens like Aido! rolfl
