I was reading the memoirs of Ted Heath last weekend and I found out that unbelievably this was actually used as a campaigning slogan by an ostracised MP named Patrick Gordon-Walker. He was contesting the Smethwick election in Birmingham which he duly lost.

Apparently the slogan was the inspiration behind 'Love thy Neighbour'.

You are mistaken.

It was an unofficial slogan (although not disowned) used by the supporters of a man named Peter Griffiths. Patrick Gordon-Walker was the man who was defeated in that contest.

Yes, and tax free beer, massive music subsidies, an end to opera and ballet and public whippings of Brown and Blair. Twice daily. Thrice if they survive too long.

Free crisps for kids, curry grants, a return to public compulsive smoking, war on America, duty free petrol, a hospital in every street, a tramps, sorry, 'street sleepers' hostel in the House of Commons, the abolition of the Premier League and the Conference swaps places with the previous encumbents. A ban on moisturiser, scarfs, cravats and undercrackers. Free love and viagra in the water supply.

Tabs, beer, sex, music and footy. You know it makes sense. :wink:

Ironically the 'n' is still quite acceptable in Poland. Either that or they're really racist bastids, the football fans are shocking.

A taxi driver in Krakow declared to us that he'd "rather share plane with 100 nigger" than fly with Ryan Air after they wouldn't let him fly because they said he was pissed, going on his driving he still was when we bumped into him. Not that I told him like he looked as hard as nails bbolt
