It was just a bit of a reaction to summat that happened this afternoon. I kid you not I almost shat meself.

We're at the zoo, right?? Not a momentous thing to do but we had visitors and there's snow tigers and stuff in there, brown bears and other stuff that lives up in the North of China.

Anyway we're wandering about on the bridges over the crocodile pit and this Chinese kid runs past and shouts something. Our rass says, 'someone in there' and sprints off to find some staff, I walked back a few paces to have a look and there's this lass standing in the bloody croc pit staring into space.

So I followed where this kid had run to and he's in there by now trying to persuade this lass to get out but she's having none of it. I'm leaning over the fence but she obviously doesn't understand what I'm on about and he grabs her and throws her over his shoulder. Problem one solved but theres a couple of crocs woken up to the fact that theres grub in the district.There's about thirty of various sizes in there.

So he's about eight feet below me and he's got a hysterical bird over his shoulder and I'm trying to support two Chinese people with one hand without losing my own footing and becoming desert.

This kid was a bloody hero, he dragged himself several steps up the wall and someone got hold of his jacket collar while I've got his free hand and he more or less chucked this lass over the top of the fence so we could drag her out. She smelt like a brewery.

Then he dragged her over to a picnic table, sat her down and talked to her as though he'd just met her at a bus stop.

I know you see this stuff in the papers but when you see it live your blood runs cold. What would possess you to want to be eaten by crocodiles??
