even watering that down to allow for your usual negativity chipolata, i'm with you. my mate fat normo was there and he's nearly as optimistic as me, but his exact words on the text were "where do we go next when we play well and still get battered?".

by the way, you never answered my question on another thread.

would you rather have barker or daly up front for us this season (not last - this) ?

The goals were a sick joke today.

I was fooking flabbergasted when he took Humphreys off!!! Why did our sub first come after 84 minutes anyway?? Shouldn't we have brought Ben Clark at half time??

Today boiled my piss, we are heading for a relegation battle defending like that we won't get another point away all season.

My most frustrating thing is this league is not even close to as strong as it was when we were good under Cooper, I mean Carlisle went 2nd at full time FFS 2nd banghead

it's a clever answer, but its bollox. you know by now that i was a huge fan of big jon. i just feel he had a bit more to his game than barker, and was at an age where he was only likely to improve. he rarely got the credit he deserved and apparently they love him up at dundee utd. he certainly wasn't as one-dimensional as our current incumbent. loan deal, anyone ?

This is now Scotty 2... the sequel.... there is now the same lack of leadership, their is an air of indifference about the team, the management and the even the supporters... a reek of acceptance seems to be in the air. it's not good.

The one flaw in your argument, is without Barker we would not have been promoted last year, IMHO

imho.

Chip,Barker hasn't started in only 4 league games this season ;
tranmere won 3.1
crewe won 3.0 (barker scores 2 coming on as sub)
yeovil lost 1.3
swindon lost 1.2
we didn't look a better team at yeovil or swindon trust me.

.... all the wishful, starry eyed, live in hope optimism dashed by a few nasty little facts. We are the football equivalent of a dysfunctional family at present.

so thats an average of 1.5 points per game when barker isnt in the starting line up and 1.21 when he is.

over the course of a season that equates to 69 points with barker starting on the bench and mid table security, and 55 points if he starts and a relegation battle.

you do realise that if you were half as clever as you think you are, you would almost be smart enough to hold your own on rivals.

nowt to do with being clever  . its just every time you make a sweeping statement that you stake your reputation (such as it is) on, somebody pops up and makes you look a tit. don't lash out at me just cos i take great delight in seeing your pomposity pricked.

rivals ? schmivals.

christ, you really do argue like a schoolgirl, don't you ?

you've no answer to people who question your 'knowledge' so you resort to the 'nobody will miss you' garbage.

grow up and learn to debate. why do you think you've had to be corrected on virtually every daft statement that you make. bear in mind its not me doing the correcting either !!

i actually agree with much of what you've said about barker, but you come up with these sweeping hopeful generalisations that end up being shown up as the rantings of man not quite in control of his own emotions.

and i won't piss off back to rivals.

bizarre. if this bitch slapping is about my barker post then the facts don't support chip's statement about barker.but fook me it's a quantum leap to try and support Jon daly over barker.
"apparently they love him over at dundee utd" this season daly played 2 scored 0 this season barker played 20 scored 8.

It doesn't help that he's a miserable bugger who doesn't make much effort to talk to or get on with any of the players, sits on his own watching films on the bus, etc (allegedly)... that's exactly the opposite of what you'd want from a keeper, I'd have thought.

And dropping Ben Clark is completely ridiculous. Alongside Antwi, Nelson is playing worst I can remember him playing, and Antwi himself might be agile but as a footballer he is way inferior to Clark. The whole defence including the keeper is a liability at the minute and it's largely Wilson's selections that are to blame.

I have faith that he'll sort it out - some faith anyway. I think he's partially addressed the problems we were having in midfield, but that's largely down to Liddle seriously improving in the last month or so, I reckon.

everyone is entitled to their opinion dawlish. daly's been injured most of the season so the goals tally comparison is a bit pointless. the only reason i'm drawing comparisons between the two is that at the time barker was signed, he was the new messiah. he is now getting the same stick that daly did when he played. people are fickle and forgetful.

its chip trying to do the bitch-slapping because he doesn't like being corrected. as someone far more eloquent than either of us put : "it's rather like being savaged by a dead sheep"

i thought antwi came in when clarky was injured. i haven't seen robbie elliott away from home, so i can't comment, but he's done ok at home.

i think the problem lies with not having an out and out leader at the back. i know a lot of people seem to think barron is the answer, but he's simply not a right back. his best position was always as a centre-back/sweeper. i'm not sure his legs would be up to it, and he can't pass water either, to be fair.

Antwi started at Kenilworth Road on August 5th Aido, while Ben Clark sat and watched.

I still think a more vocal reliable goalkeeper would make a difference, even to that back four. Still though I'd be fooking flabbergasted if Barron, Nelson, Clark, and Humphreys turned in a defensive display like yesterday anyway I could say it with total confidence.... it wouldn't happen.

LOSING THE PLOT...? it's long gone. Most of his signings have been disappointing, rather like Scotty his signings haven't really done the business and I find the goalkeeper signing one of the most baffling of the lot. If he gets money to strengthen, he's here for the duration, but on past evidence I don't hold out much hope for any signings.

Chip everything you have said in the 1st post is 100% correct. As for Budtz, Elliott and Antwi they just arent good enough + Barker.
