He deserves nothing more than resounding boos.

Everyone seems to have forgotten he would have signed for Darlo if Penney wanted him.

Poolie traitor!

Definitely harsh PN. Adam Boyd is a great credit to Pools - born and bred by us and gave everything he had in service to the club. He was sold on a deal which benefited the club as much as him and with the full consent of the club. He gave every appearance of wanting to come back at the start of this season, and the club (DW?) said no, it was time to move on. So what's he supposed to do? Sit and cry in a corner? He has to make a living somewhere.

I hope he gets a great reception as the lad deserves it for all he did for Pools. I also hope he doesn't score. But I still rate him as better than anything in the front line that we have on the pitch, though James Brown is learning fast.

Got a good reception when we played at the Orient, at the end of the match he came over and applauded the Pools supporters.

At Orient Boyd was pretty much anonymous during the game, but afterwards he came over to the Pools fans applauded us & gave us a wave as he left the pitch.Obviously I dont want him to score tomorrow, but outside of tomorrows game I wish him nothing but the best.He did a good job for us & showed that he still has a lot of respect for us,we should show him the same.

you may recall i offered 50/1 boyd signing for darlo on this very board the day he was photographed at their ground.

the meet was arranged by his agent while he was on holiday in america, and he went along to see what was on offer.

as for penny not wanting him, thats utter and total crap. they wouldnt have offered him a deal, a deal he turned down within minutes if that was the case.

the simple truth is that he would have come back to pools on loan within 6 months of joining luton, and he would have signed for us in the summer if we wanted him. his dad said to me that he would walk here if there was an offer for him. but we didnt, and you can kind of understand why.

thats all water under the bridge like.

as for what kind of reception he will get... who's to say? i certainly wouldnt boo him, that would be plain daft. it will be interesting to see if he displays the same amount of class when he scores as westwood did.

nice to see your confident

Boyd produced some fantastic football, skill and some brilliant goals in a Pools shirt. For that I am grateful to him, even in an era where we've had some outstanding players (Stephenson, Miller, Watson, Paul Smith, James Brown, Porter etc etc) Boyd has stood out from the lot with some of the things he produced for HUFC. A great player, and a pleasure to watch - one of the very few players in lower league football worth paying the admission fee just to watch him alone.
His various off-field antics have almost led to the downfall of his career, but any manager who can see his talents has generally perservered with him (except Blackwell last season at Luton) because he has so much talent, it would be criminal not to try and maximise it. If he had a bit more pace, hadn't had that injury, and had the dedication of someone like James Brown, he would have been playing in the Prem by now without any doubt.I've seen strikers in that League who couldn't lace Boydy's boots, skill-wise.

the disadvantage he has today, is that Nelson knows him too well and how he will play, so he doesn't have the same element of surprise as he does against other centre halves. However, I think if Antwi is marking him, he might get more joy - but surely Nelson will be instructing Antwi on the pitch as to what to expect. I'd definitely like to see a Clark/Nelson pairing if it was possible.

Why does boydy deserve boos????? stpid stpid stpid when he was here he was class and since hes left he hasnt dissrespected pools! he would never have signed for darlo in a million years, his agent was just using them to get him a move!
Oh and he made pools half a million quid and came through the ranks, so in my opinion he deserves a round of applause, definately no boos from morons like yourself! rage refred

Browns performance against Leeds was top quality.

Yet some of you still slagged him off.......as you did when Boydy had an "off day".

You lot prefer to see Barker working his socks off and defending from the front.

How good would we be with Brown, Boyd, Moore and Porter as our strikers eh?

Pretty shit, 'cos with four up front we'd get slaughtered in midfield.

We pretty well marked Boydy out of the game. Poor game, better 2nd half than 1st (we were DIRE in the first) at least we created a few decent chances in the 2nd half, and were probably unlucky not to win

On comments made on other threads I thought Ali G did ok when he came on, linked up well with Moore & we looked pretty threatening down that side. Elliott had a MARE, couldn't pass to a blue & white shirt, & his free kicks were awful. Budtz STILL frightens the life out of me, Nolan had a poor game at right back, & why are people slagging Liddle? I thought he had a good game, very competitive!
