Phil O'Donnell the Motherwell captain and ex Celtic player collapsed and died in the match against Dundee United today. His nephew was also playing for Motherwell today. Kind of puts things in perspective. Condolences to his friends and family.

He collapsed with an apparent seizure during a game against Dundee Utd just as he was about to be substituted. On the way to Wishaw General Hospital, he died from a heart attack.

RIP, very sad indeed. We know what it's like to lose a player so I'm sure the thoughts of all Hartlepool fans are with his family at this sad time.

Slightly off topic but when tragedies like this happen it just goes to show no matter how fit you are when the Lord comes a calling we all must go. Once again RIP.

For me, it just means that all the petty squabbles, stresses, situations that we have no control over, work based hassles and wordly possessions count for nothing in the end - and we don't know when the end will be.
I guess everyone will look at things differently, but that's what I meant.

Phil O'Donnell was 35 years old and was just about to be subbed, this was not related to to any feeling of being unwell. His nephew had scored 2 goals today as well and was subbed after his uncles collapse.

I agree with every word you say Mr.Hawklord but....the words....'Kind of puts things in perspective' seems to be said on a messageboard every time someone dies Football related!!!!

Which is fair enough!!!! confised

But I still don't and never will understand them words....'Kind of puts things in perspective'!!!! confised confised

I tell you who I feel for after today....That little 1 year old Baby who never stood a chance!!!! confised confised confised

But it still doesn't put things into perspective for me!!!!

Sorry....I just don't understand this Perspective thing!!!! confised confised confised
