OK OK I agree it's an OTT PC thing but I honestly don't think it's worth making a song and dance about. Trends will change and eventually PC-ism will be frowned on as much as political incorrectness is now. It's not permanent. It's just a silly phase we're going through. This was in the mid 90's, in Birmingham and the term was 'invented' to ease the pain that may be caused by referencing people as dead when talking to relatives and close family or friends of said deceased. When I finally sussed out what he was on about I fell about laughing and retired to the bar to wait my lift home bbolt
