Something that may have helped is that the negative not nice people this club has seemed to have stayed at home, and it paid dividends.

Therefore if you were one of the negative not nice people who has nothing good to say about Pools, and you stayed at home tonight. Please dont come again this season.

** Sorry bout that

Yes tonight was a joy to watch, it feels good to be a poolie.

sctatchinghead I Think the team we put out, the players who should have been playing 5/6 games ago.
I think that played a rather big part in tonights win.

Old argument but performances on the pitch of late have had bog all to do with a negative crowd! I think the fans have been very supportive considering & it is up to the players to give the crowd something to shout about, then they can feed off the crowd

You should rename yourself toshpoolie as you talk plenty of it. The performances lately have been poor because the best players were often on the bench and many of the regulars such as Nelse/Liddle/Ritchie were underperforming. Tonight Danny played a proper team and we got the rewards against a pretty useful side.

I must say, I was well impressed with Nolan, how I wish we could sign him permanently!

For me, Nolan played better tonight than McCunnie has at right back all season. I hope we extend Nolans loan from what I've seen so far.

I'm glad to have been proven wrong and for Pools to have responsed with a victory to what has been an abysmal month or so of football. Here's hoping Wilson keeps that team together for the weekend, a team that actually looks exciting on paper.

Just for the record, in case some people don't know, McCunnie wasn't in the squad because he was injured.
We Pools Worldy's sometimes have an advantage over you lot hehe.

the fans dont pick the team or play in the games they pay their money and take their choice
the results of late were very poor indeed and you cannot criticise them for not wanting to attend it is childish to even suggest we won the game because fans stayed away
the evidence was there for all to see we are capeable of good football but not consistantly
and it will take a few games like that to get people back

There's a big divide between those who go to watch them win and those who go because they're Poolies.

Sky is the main cause of this malaise, but you can't knock the better crowds with the win mentality, 'cos they pay their money and don't grumble about it.

I'm just amazed that poolies (especially with season tickets) stop going to watch their team due to a run of bad results. It really does disgust me. I've watched Pools for about 12 years now and not once have I felt like that. Even in the days of Keith Houchen walking off the pitch (and in effect resigning) because we were losing to bottom of the league Brighton.

gremmlin if it seems that way I did not mean to suggest that we won because the moaners stayed away. No, we obviously won through hard work and a better team selection from Danny. Nolan is indeed a fantastic player and if we could keep him on loan for the rest of the season i'd be over the moon.

All i'm saying is that the atmosphere last night was a lot more positive. When we conceded I half expected fans to get on the players backs like we have done in recent weeks. This didn't happen, after they scored the whole crowd began to applaud and cheer/shout so the lads heads didnt drop. That is the atmosphere we used to have, and fortunately it is coming back.

Perhaps me and the bunker just dont mix, since alot of posts I read here remind me of the wanker who sometimes stands up and shouts 'WILSON OUT' when he thinks a bad decision has been made. This is usually the opinion of the minority (as shown by the Wilson out? poll). NOTHING good will ever come from that type of negativity.

Who's done that like? I admit I've not felt excited about going for the last couple of months, but I've gone nevertheless and always will do.

I think Mr Reid said it best somewhere on the board when he said we are all on here cos we care but we have different ways of showing it. Or something like that.

I saw a thread earlier about people saying theyre not turning up or only going cause they have to take their kids etc

Im sure I also read about people wanting to sell their season ticket

And also the fact that our crowd was 1000 smaller than usual, im assuming all 1000 of them didnt have work to go or a good excuse for not turning up

I didnt realise you needed an 'excuse' not to turn up to watch Pools....

Freedom of choice and all that

give the pools fans a two nil lead and they will be happy
i think the happy was there before the kick off just looking at the team if that does not speak volumes to the chairman then i dont know what will
the old adage you can fool some of the people just does not work in this situation
every one wants to watch a winning team you need to see the opponents beat if that wont happen then you at least need a draw especially at home
we were not even getting draws and the mish mash of a system needed changing
and as the king of the board said the chairman changed it then he can pick the team every week for me and let DW stand with his arms folded
the proof was in the PUDDING we were a different quality last night and it was a joy to watch

Im honestly not having a dig at people who can't afford it. I'm not here to judge peoples reasons, but some who may read this know deep down they didnt go cause their loyalty is waivering, thats a great shame.

I'm a student so was fortunate to get my season ticket for only £120 or so, I know others have to fork out over twice that.

gremmlin I agree totally with what you say, except the fact that the chairman picking the team .... lol ? are you for real? Let me guess your friends monkeys dog got this from a 'reliable' source?

I think the more likely reason for the change was Danny has began to realise that in this division Barkers pros no longer outweigh his conns when it comes to a matchup between him and Joel Porter. Don't be surprised if Barker gets back in the starting line up though, there will definately be games where we will be crying out for Ritchie Barker.

You guys seem obsessed with your own 'pooliebunker' team but there are many, many reasons why Danny picks players, ill name just a few:-

fitness
application to training
attitude to the team
opposition style of play
formation and tactics needed to beat opposition
ability in a competitive match

Now before you all go jumping down my throats, I realise Danny played the team (minus Ben Clark and McCunnie if Nolan was not here) that you guys would like to see every game (I too would like to see that team played more often) but it isnt as simple as that.

Please remember we only ever see the players ability in a competitive match and perhaps fitness from the list above, Danny has a full squad and many factors to consider.

I dont work for the club, my glass is simply half full rather than half empty. We are 3 points off the playoffs. Lets get behind the lads and recreate Tuesday nights atmosphere every time we play at the vic this season.

Bosh, don't be silly. You might give blind loyalty to your child, everyone else has to earn it.
Tuesday's atmosphere was caused by there being a great deal to applaud. We were all delighted about that.
In previous games that hadn't been the case.

Would you support a theatre company where the director kept casting the understudies and the actors kept forgetting their lines?

How is this then to make things even more interesting?

Taxi driver picked me up the other day, One of those posh hudsons mercs, He said he had to pick an IOR representitive up from Aberdeen as he was making a special trip according to this guy in taxi.

Basically he said he was the guy who was just above Hodcroft and had a "few concerns" over the team and was going for meeting. Low and behold we have changes! There may be more truth in the chairman rumour than you think... Unless you all think i am talking tosh too
