Thanks to MR I for sorting out my log in problems
Missed the Torquay match due to being at the in-laws. Tried to get out of it Friday by texting my other half, saying how bad the rain and weekend forecast was, saying it would take ages gettting to the other side of Sheffield, and what with screaming kids and all that. I was desperate to get to the match.
But she didnt buy it and the rain stopped. So I watched it intermittently on ceefax. As it happens, probably more exciting than the actual match so it worked out well. And my dad in law does this starter thing that contains oatcakes (are they a derbyshire thing?) and salmon, except he reckons its Russian so we all have to drink a glass of neat vodka with it as well ( I went for the black option - cracking!) .
Anyhow, went for a walk in the countryside and that, playing dodge the sheep shite. Spotted lots of mushrooms so decided to pick them (not the magic type, my three year olds a bit young for that and its too early anyway) and shove them in a pan and fry them with garlic.
I couldnt wait - I have a garlic and chilli addiction - chucked them in with loads of butter and garlic, and watched, with horror, as stacks of maggots crawled out of them, wriggling around my fucking frying pan in the butter.
My lass reckons you could eat them, they wouldnt do you any harm.
It all went in the bin.
Fuck that. I'm off to Safeways next.

She wasnt hungry
To be fair to her, she did say that before the maggots were spotted
