Yeah it was a nice touch for him to come over and applaud the Pools fans at the end! He didn't have to do it... he did it because he is Joe Joe Joe Allon and there is still a place in his heart for Pools always has been and always will be!

ElvisC must have seen something from Joe to upset him, however, we all know how passionate Joe can be and to see two of his strikers hit the net must have given him a buzz, at the end of the day, Joe has a job to do and today's result must have been a job well done, for him! But Mr. Allon will have appreciated Pools efforts!

I think knocking about with Wise must be a bit infectious it must turn you into a bit of a twat.

That's disappointing why would you do that? I though he was going OTT at the end as well with all of that bollocks on the pitch. The way he was idolised at Pools he should have shown a bit more respect and not just lauded attention at the end of the match with his applause to the fans.

Funny how we get told how certain players are 'true poolies' and other such mispalced terms of adulation ...if I see them supporting the lads when their careers are over, I may just believe it, there aren't many.

Most of them are just earning a wage nothing more. Joe Allon was a decent player 20 years ago but now just likes to bask in the fading limelight no matter where its coming from.

Like Ken Simpkins. Now there's a decent Welshman.
And another Welshman, the great Ernie, made a point of coming to see us when he was back in the UK didn't he.
I wonder if one day Eifion will make it three?

Its a shame we forget so easily. Maybe Joe Allon was clapping because Hartlepool has a special place in his heart and he wanted you to know that even though working for Leeds with his best mate that he still respected the fans where he finished his career and wanted to show that. It takes a passionate man to do that in front of the Leeds fans who would of course slaughter him but he didnt seem to care about that. Joe Allon is at Leeds as a friend not coach and earns his money doing after dinner speaking not at leeds. Like all footballers he holds a place in his heart for all the clubs he played for especially Hartlepool so as a Fan and someone who has done my research on Joe Allon I think your wrong to feel the way you do and should actually think that he was saying I may be with Leeds but that doesnt mean I my thanks dont go to Hartlepool for making the end of my career so great. Everyone is a cynic and what i learned of Joe is he is a proud man with a big heart and has never ever said a bad word about Hartlepool in an interview and does not take radio money for his words about the club. So give the guy a break as this was his job and no longer is through injury which for any footballer is gutting as you spend your life living your dream and its gone bang. He is not flash or raking the money but loyal and very very funny.... I have checked all of this out and am looking forward to Boxing Day and seeing Joe at the match where he will of course be supporting Leeds as he is loyal but will have a place in his heart for the poolies. I will always support Joe as he has only ever done good for Hartlepool and I thank him not be fickle because he is involved in a sport he loves. I dont see Hartlepool offering Joe work these days ? Joe is a very very funny man not flash at all. Google him the people who really know him never say a bad word about him and this is for a reason. Thank You Joe Allon why should you just disappear you wouldnt expect a miner to forget the mines and men he once loved and worked with. So why should a footballer just fade out. I think you took what he did in the wrong way. Watch Joe Closely like I have recently and you will see there is more to him than most.

God if only we were all as clever as you lot. Stereotypical fans talking a load of old bollocks. I don't know Joe personally but think he is an ok guy, harmless and funny. Guess he knows more about football and has seen more in football than you load of OLD gobshites. Its a shame you are the way you are, but its fans like you that pull players to pieces making them lose confidence and then lose games then blame blame blame. Well thats fine at least I know what I am talking about and I am honest with this. You don't know Joe or any of the players you just see and believe what you want to see and believe. Its all mindless rubbish but your not alone in this. Guess supporting a club for a million years makes you experts as well in your eyes. End of

I am not angry its just sad. You see it so often when players finish there careers and are gutted. Then the fans who once thanked them for there hard work then slaughter them. I just think its a shame. I have great empathy for people and will only judge them honestly and I know for a fact that Joe is not getting paid tons at leeds and is not a coach. He is a friend of Wisey for over 20 years and is very loyal which after what Leeds said about Wisey he needed. I think that Joe is right to be with his friend and be loyal in what is obviously a fickly world. I am sorry for being angry just think fans sometimes are wrong and should research things before putting mindless comments about people on the forum. Good Luck on Joe Allon but not sure he will be clapping the fans again after it was taken in the totally wrong way and the fans comments about someone who was once a good player for Hartlepool and never did anything wrong to the club at all. Great Shame

I have no particular view of this as I didn't see it, but I believe it was the taking the piss that has offended people not the clapping.
