Though it was about time I had a moan about something....
I've just been out to fill my petrol tank and for the very first time I've watched the pounds go faster than the fuel!
I remember about a year ago or maybe even 2 years ago there was hell on about the rising fuel costs but now people don't seem to be too bothered about it. Driving your HGV really slow down a motorway in protest to the high prices didn't really do too much last time apart from make people late for work, but what can be done now?
There was an e-mail going round telling people to boycott filling stations like Shell or BP so they would be forced to drop their prices but i think that is a pretty unrealistic request due to the fact that people may not buy fuel from these companies anyway or the people who do buy their fuel from the above companies may only do this as it is the only place they can go if they live in a remote location with only 1 petrol station for miles.
What are everyone's views on this topic and does anyone have any ideas on what could be done to drive the cost down (no pun intended)!
I understand the views of members of this board may not make a difference to the rising charges but it would be interesting to see if everyone is getting as annoyed as I am with the cost of running a car.

Frightening.

I recall filling the car with petrol at 56 pence a litre back in 1997. Now look at it!!!

Petrol prices are going up all over the world; it's not a British thing.
Just to put the record straight like.

It's the good old supply and demand I'm afraid.... Kev's mates are increasingly driving cars, so are people in India etc, plus growing economies so lots more people want oil, supply can't grow too fast so the price goes up.... not sure what it's doing at the moment, but it was close to $100 a barrel the other week. The governement is of course happily raking in their share through the extra tax being paid, but as it's going up everywhere (continent as well) there's less motivation to the truckers etc to complain.

Watch out if it's a cold winter as it could get even worse!
