As you may or may not know, Mrs Bandage is expecting our second child in early April, thing is, we cant agree on a name..........so as with our first born, we read a few books for a bit of inspiration.

And some of the names you can legally call your child are, quite frankly, criminal! confised

Anyhoo, seems to me that Hartlepools chav element have taken this to a whole new level.......on Saturday i heard 'Shakila' for a girl, and 'Kingston' for a boy.......

So very, very wrong

Ever read any Pratchett? He uses that gag in one book, the people in a rural country are described as picking words they liked the name of and one girl would have been called that if her Mum hadn't decided that Sally was easier to spell....

We're struggling to pick a boy's name at the moment, almost slipped Joel into the frame but couldn't keep a straight face long enough! The name books are ridiculous, the sort of names that Paula Yates would have liked.... I'm mindful of the need to have a name that a kid can have and grow up with with a minimum of teasing, so I prefer the old classics.... there will be no boy named Sue either....

Did you know a couple in Kent in the 80s called their child Depressed Cupboard Cheesecake?

Me and my mrs are having a similiar problem. We have looked through books and stuff but the wife takes the name meaning too serious, if it has a crap meaning she refuses to use it straight away

My mrs would refuse that straight away because of the Roland Rat connection, she also won't use a name if she knows of someone with the same name who is a bit of a twat etc etc etc

Me and our lass have decided what to call it if its a lad, but are at a bit of a loss for lasses names we agree on.

I'm tempted to call it Rarf even if it is a girl.

We had decided on a boys name for all 3 of our kids at an early stage, but hadn't decided on a possible girls name right up to the birth, luckily for them all, we had 3 lads.

if it's a boy Jonathan literally translates in hebrew into meaning 'Gods Gift' so that saves you all the bother of looking any further..

PS - Kevin, TalbotAvenger, ADG - we do not need you to tell us any other translations of the name Jonny or Jonathan in other languages before you make things up for comedy effect.......
