Crap Guys....

I wish to make a claim for encountering the crappest Guy I have ever seen tonight in Oxford Road...it consisted of a plastic carrier bag (ASDA) stuffed with other bags and a face drawn on ...very badly... so basically it was a ..... head :roll:

I HATE this time of year for this very reason....everytime i go to the Fens shops it costs me an extra ten bob!!

Mind you, when we were kids we didnt even bother to MAKE a guy, the smallest kid would just put on his best 'scruffies' and zip his parka all the way up so you couldnt see his face! :laugh:

I went into a shop on Sunday and on both sides of the 'parade' were numerous chavs asking penny for the guy, to which I replied 'Not a chance', they then asked me again, two minutes later when I left the shop, it must be all that cheap white bread and mcnuggets they live on :grin:

I've a;ways threatened to, but one day I will actually give them a penny, pick up the guy and walk away. :laugh:

"Penny for the Guy?"

There is a complete absence of Guy. Not even the aforementioned zipped-up Parka trick. When asked where the guy is, one points at the other.

It used to be really bad as I lived in an old-style straight onto the pavement terrace - you'd get dozens of them on the grounds they could knock on two doors at once. Halloween would start early October, Penny for the (absence of) Guy for a week after, then a two week hiatus before Christmas Carols (well, a half-hearted mumbling of the chorus of "We wish you a Merry Christmas") started in earnest. Bah Humbug to the lot of 'em.

Usually after a few beers.

The looks on their little faces is priceless.

Especially when we've started using their guy as a football. :grin:
