Greetings.

What an absolutely excellent minute's silence for Michael - observed by everyone before the match yesterday.

Stood in the Rink End - head bowed - I was a bit concerned that the Police/Fire warning sound - that were evident just before - would affect the mark of respect.

But - as all who were there will remember - it was a completely silent minute.

Other than the silence - the only sound of which I was aware - was that of just one turnstile - clicking round sufficient to have let one person in.

Poignant - I thought.

Best wishes to you all.

There's nothing quite like the sound of a clicking turnstile, even during a minute's silence, it somehow seems to add to the poignancy!

sixty seconds of silence impeccably observed!

What Lancs said was : the sound of the turnstile clicking round just sufficiently to let one person in.
The one person who wasn't there, Mr Smythe. Think poetry

Poetry, in the bunker, it's a slippery slope......... next we'll be disussing the ins and outs of light tan as an upholstery cover for chairs.......

Not sure if it's because I wasn't at the game, but the more I read the "turnstile" post, the more moving it gets. (the post that is)

There is a man in China,
who bought a 'leather' chair.
People come from miles around ,
to look at it and stare.

The colours controversial,
it's known as 'Yangtse Dung'.
But locals all just shake their head.
and tell him he's been done

All the locals have one,
so the man is not alone,
they're pee soaked damaged surplus stock,
from the Yangtse old folks home......
