I am not in any way a violent person but I sincerely hope that Brighton's number 24 got a severe kicking by someone after the game today, if he doesn't hope someone gets him in the future his actions after Brighton's winner to Richard Barker were in the circumstances the most unsporting behaviour I have ever seen on a football field. Richie was devastated when that goal when in, and in normal circumstances what Elphick did would have been an utter disgrace but to do it today of all days.

Brighton's manager was clearly embarrassed by the celebrations after the winner. Brighton's fans are great and always have been but the players in the circumstances were a disgrace.

Barker was lying down gutted after they scored.

Brighton players taunted him. Number 24 (Elphick) kissed his black arm band mocking what Barker did after he scored as a tribute to Maidens.

that twat, is a poor excuse for a human being, Iam not a vindictive person, but when i saw that i felt sick to my stomach, barkers reaction to jester to him to step outside the ground indicated to me that he was infuriated by the comments, which obviously had nothing to do with the game....
The little shit needs to die a thousand deaths for that the bastad!

I think Barker needs applauding for not throwing any punches as was kicked and wound up all game.

I cant think of many players who would not lash out after what he recieved. A model pro.

i know what it looks like muttley but no. after the game i went to ladbrokes to watch the f.a cup draw, then i took the bairn back to her mams.

i nipped into asda after that to get some bread and a tub of ice cream and seen the brighton lads getting some refreshments for the journey home.

the bus was outside waiting for them like.

i chucked a ciabatta roll at it.

it was a symbolic yet fulile gesture.

particularly as it missed the bus and hit a dark blue honda civic
.

and heres you telling us you had played rugby at a reasonable level

i played rugby at the lowest level possible, st bedes, peterlee. played for 5 years and i dont think we ever won a game, but we got some absolute twattings off the rugby schools like wellfield and durham johnston.

to be fair if it had been anything other than a ciabatta i would probably have hit the target.

We Grammar School boys battered Johnstons 63-3. Next weekend they had seven in the County side and we had one.

Well, if the face don't fit.....

But (sigh) I've mentioned before that Durham Johnston is a comprehensive school. The fact that you're stressing your Grammar School credentials suggests that you are still confusing (sigh again) Durham Johnston with Durham School which is private. (I say this because I don't wish anyone to think I send my kid to a private school :sweeeet: ...while of course not wishing to denigrate private schools. Much.)

Durham Johnston were our main rivals at girls football when I played. The Durham cup final would be fought out between the two of us each year, in memory they only actually beat us twice in five years but it was always the side that we hated coming up against as they were all about a foot taller than us and built like blokes. One cup final resulted in a "draw" as the ref (provided by Durham Johnston) decided to skip the penalties as we had "both played so well and both deserved to win" yeah right, the fact they had already missed a penalty in the game and they were making it known that they didn't fancy it had nothing to do with it.

Saying that, even Durham Johnston weren't as bad loosers as Whitley Bay High School who we knocked out of the Nationals with PE teacher Mr Tupling in charge but thats another story.

i dont know what durham johnston were in the 70's all i know is that they were a rugby school at the time, like wellfield and st aidans in sunderland.

they knew the rules and shiit like that wheras we just used to get the ball on the deck and try and dribble it through and as a result were penalised for offside about 90 times a game. we also had a lot of lads sent off for tripping. and, sad to say, spitting on an opponent.

in one game chubb ( so named for his ability to break into buildings, not because he was fat ) managed to get sent off for the combined offence of tripping an opponent, spitting on him when he got up, and calling the ref a ginger tw@t.

he then stood on the touchline smoking and verbally abusing anyone within earshot.

he was 13 at the time.

canny lad all the same. first kid the teachers turned to if they locked their keys in the car.

Chubb! School sports day, he went missing, and was found in the long grass shagging!
Mick Carney said something like "Go and do the long jump, then you're for the high jump!" rolfl

when i was a lad and played rugger with the boys of the secondry modern school
we had a good side
un beaten in three seasons and the grammer school was one of our favourite targets
they dont like it up em
and they used to play rugger with gloves on the tarts
but yes they got picked for the county and we did not
it was par for the course if you got a county trial and i had three attempts
you gave the opposition as much stick as you could
second class citizens went to secondry schools unfortunately
but it might have had something to do with the selectors who were teaching at grammer schools
i ma i bitter
no just boiling with anger taz taz

so bring on your henry smiths[olde school not the replica] and your technical day school
and we could still beat yer rolf
