I've just woken up to the sound of a what I think is a gun battle down the road - could have been a firework but I doubt it. Jesus, I thought those days were over! If it is another shooting, no doubt it'll be all over the news tomorrow.

I haven't. Honest I haven't, never ever would either.

I moved the other week to Wollaton, just off Torvill Drive. When I seen it on the news I was suprised it was so far away but I suppose it was sound travelling better at night. I was asleep with the window open and it woke me straight up. What makes matters worse is that it was automatic fire. The Police haven't said anything about that but my guess was an AK47 or similar.

This is a serious escalation because up to now its only been handguns but that was definitely quite a few bursts of automatic fire.
