Dunno about anyone else but I thought the atmosphere of the town end was better when he used to sing. he brought everyone together in laughing at or mocking him.

his tommy miller song was good.

the only sound i heard during the minutes silence was frank reids camera. sorry. but that is factually correct.

is taking photographs ( click, click, on the crowd, turns round, click click on the players ) morally acceptable during a minutes silence ?

discuss.

Acceptable for 5 or 10 seconds but he can't of been snapping all the way through surely?

Well, if he is he's not the only one. Even my 16 year old took exception to Frank's pointing the camera in her direction in what she felt ought to have been a private moment. After all, do we need to see pictures of people grieving....can't we just imagine it?

Rob and I thought the same too Chip

its intruding on peoples grief
one pic would suffice

but then you'll get me started on the photography/art debate again.... ......why else do they leave their finger pressing the shutter button thing, cos they cant get it right with a one and only chance.... its shite

Before I took photographs of people standing directly behind me I informed them of what I was going to do. They all (young and old) said that it was ok and understood I had a job to do.

I take it Chip that you will not be looking at any photographs showing Hartlepool United, staff, fans and neutral's showing their respect for Michael Maidens.

Recording events in history (no matter how large or small, local or national), is what journalist's of all types do.

I of course respect your opinion.

Frank.

I guess I'd argue that there has to be some justification for intruding on private 'moments', other than that it's just what journalists do.

Howay Salty, just a bit OTT comparing that picture with pictures of the minutes silence today isn't it? What about the silence for Harold Hornsey, Frankie Baggs, Brian Clough etc etc. All photographed at their respective times, saved and recorded as they are all part of the history of our club.

Mutley has got it spot on, it was those seagulls who couldn't keep their beaks shut today!

Frank's recorded an important bit of Pool's history, I'm sure he was as discrete as was possible and the communal spirit in the club and the town would be the worse if he hadn't done his job.

Occasions like these must go into the record and if Frank focused on any one in particular it was probably because that person illustrated the emotions of the moment. If it was you be complimented, you expressed the feelings of a lot of others
