I've just had a phone call from BBC Tees. They want to interview me to air it before the game on Saturday.
It's to give a fans perspective of the past week and what we anticiapte the atmosphere and players to be like.

Any suggestions from you guys would be greatly appreciated as I'm not too good at remembering statistics (games Maidens has played etc) and what not.

I don't think that you will need to know too many stats and stuff, just tell them how you remember Michael as a player etc and how his untimely death has affected everyone within the town

Just mention the goal, and how it was one of the few bright spots in an otherwise miserable season.

The best sounding interview I've ever done was on the radio and that was because I though we were doing some preamble before it went live. I was wrong, we were actually on the air. Basically; be yourself, speak naturally but slightly slower that normal because nerves speed up your speech. Consciously speaking a litttle slower counteracts this and you sound fine. trust me, I've done a few in my time.

That's the most important thing to remember. Stick with that and you'll be fine, whether it's interviews, presentations etc.

And be sincere. Don't say anything that you don't believe or just for the sake of it.

Well I would imagine swearing would be a no for starters...

And probably try not to say "like" at the end of a sentence.

make sure you always have a glass of water to hand. It's amazing how your throat seems to dry up in situations like that, when you have a bit of talking to do in a public forum.
Sounds daft, but being able to take a little sip of water to ease the frog in your throat helps enormously.

During the whole CD thing, I was getting interviewed on camera and my sister was shouting me not knowing the interview was happening. I gestured to her thinking my hands were off camera but they weren't. When the video was shown Mutley asked if I was shoooing a big dog away.
