Ignore the pie eating philistine. I found that most informative even though no mention was made of hooters.

Shut up yer tart. Learn a bit of the language then you'll understand what they're babbling on about. Next time you come to the UK never call in at my place then, it'll drive you mad.

This is a Cuban guy called Osbanis who is pretty much the best there is. He spends his time between London and Nottingham - the two biggest Salsa scenes in the UK. This video is shot at Colwick in nottingham.

Admittedly he's only messing about here teaching but you get the idea about fluidity and spontaneity.

It's not the language, I know a teeny bit of the language, it's the bloody awful repetitive beat, the tom toms and the mariachi trumpets and the cafe bar piano that drives me to distraction. It's all you hear in London these days. rage

Thats called the beat Sir!

1,2,3 pause, 5,6,7, pause. When you get a mit more advanced the pause is replaced by another movement.

I don't, but as you started this thread I didn't want you to be over-awed by the intellectual stimuli of it all. I appreciate the fact that if it doesn't come in a bowl, you soon lose interest

They couldn't because they are all doing a set routine. Thats why they can't do real salsa on SCD, its all put together as you go. For example; most salsa dancers will have a repetoire of 20+ different moves but when they go onto the dance floor they won't have the first clue which of them they're going to use and in which order. All of those moves that ossy used there I and a lot of others advanced dancers can do- obviously not as well, he's world class. Typically with a new partner you would start with basics and work up to more complicated stuff. They key as I said is spontaneity. That comes with practice and experience. I've been doing this stuff for over five years properly, there is no way they are going to be as good after a week?

By the way, why oh why did the aforementioned Kate & Anton dance the Tango to a fast beat? The Tango is a slow sensuous dance sctatchinghead.

They did this:

It should look like this:

Anton's was nothing like that one. That wasn't a Tango as we know it though. There was no sharp head movements and the hold wasn't tight. There was also large spaces between them at certain points. More an Argentinian version with the leg flicks?. The music was spot on. Pity that bloke's head obscured so much of the video rage

Of course I only know what Len tells me :uhoh:

Craig thought it was lumpy, bumpy and awkward

Representing Essex we have Mr Canvey Island himself, Sarfy Witch. Up against him tonight, oooooerrrrr misssus, we have the Norths Mincing Queen, Moisturiser Boy.

Start mincing boys".

But wait....

We have a late entry from the far North east.

A dancer who has a 75 inch waist and a 14 inch inside leg. He's wearing a frilly pink top and appears to have a turkey leg protruding from his mouth. His partner an 87 year old munchkin with sagging man boobs is wearing a bright yellow leotard with brothel creepers. Please put your hands together for Dribble and the Gremmlin...

Dibble is wearing a beautiful haute couture creation with 1426 sequins, Apparently he stayed up all night sewing them on himself (that must have hurt a bit)

Yes PINK

BTW, you are showing your age using Angela Ripon is the hostess. She presented come dancing many moons ago, about the time when you only weighed about 20 stone (remember those distant days?)

Now It's Brucey ( ), a man who was past his sell by date when tv's were only in black & white, and Tess, a lovely long legged blonde :sweeeet:
