Am I right in thinking that this was the bloke from that game against Bournemouth at the vic the season we got to Cardiff?

89th minute Appo scores, dissallowed and a penalty given for a pull on his shirt. Boyd missed the penalty only for us to get a free kick in extra time and Appleby to score after Strachan dinked it over the top. He was rubbish that night and he was rubbish last night, mind you his linesman on the Mill House side should have been able to see the penaties and the ref did look towards him for help.

Interesting that people are having a pop at Coles. He did NOTHING wrong defensively last night.

Agreed Elvis but some of his passing in the first half was shocking and don't think he gives us anywhere near what we get from Jimmy Mac going forward. Only thing I can think is that Danny is givin Coles a chance to prove his fitness and ability before deciding whether to make move pemanent. If that is the case, not sure the first team is the right place to do that, especially given McCunnies performances to date

Maybe Danny sees McCunnie as cover for Boland in the middle of the park and wants somebody who else to play right back

Looking at the bench last night you could see that McCunnie didn't want to be sat there, he was sat leaning forward with his head in his hands, being dropped may see him try to improve that bit more in training which will definately better the team as well. He doesn't seem the type to go into a shell and become alienated from the rest of the squad.

The competition for places has got to be the best we have had here ever, the likes of Sweeney and Elliot can't even get on the bench and that is with naming 5 outfield subtistutes

The thing that really pi**ed me off last night was for the last 20mins Coles was struggling with cramp, everytime we had the ball at there end of the pitch he was stretching his hamstring & calf, yet Danny still kept him on.
This could of cost us Rovers attacked down his side cause they new he was struggling.

I think the centre backs are maybe not as physically strong as some of the centre forwards they have been up against, e.g. Lambert, Mooney, who have outmuscled our centre halves in my opinion. I wonder if Coles has been signed to play against the strong men of our League, and he may be moved to centre half?
Just a thought, like

By January Coles and Clark will be our first choice centre half pairing.
