Not done this for a while!

1. I've never been to their ground yet.
2. The One and Only Mr Clough is the obvious link
3. Mr I is a secret Forest fan
4. Are they the only former European Champions we've ever played? Like, ever, even in the cup?
5. First away game for a while that I'm not driving- lager here I come!

1. I have; once for a Hartlepool match and the others were Euro 96 games.
2. Indeed and if you come in on the A52 you will find that the 10 mile stretch between Derby and Nottingham is now called 'Brian Clough Way'
3. Mr Ripper is a not so secret Sunderland fan
4. We have played both Man Utd and Chelsea both neither had won the European Cup at the time.
5. Thats because you're a part timer.

Part time - Because you only go to a few away games. You're too busy at the SOL to go to any more.

Don't think we've ever played anyone who had already been European champions or Proper Euro cup holders.

Its Nottingham Forest not Notts
i have been a few times when our kid had a Pub there ( Larwood and Voce) in the Gibson Era
The greatest ever Cricketer Derek Rags Randall played there and I met him
There was a regular squad of Forest Fans used to come and watch pools and loved it!
OH
and the men still wear tights

I've been to the SoL three times since it opened 10 years ago.

And one of those was to watch Pools (IN THE POOLS END!)

Their record in front of Sky TV cameras is almost worse than ours. They have only beat none-league opposition in front of Sky (Weymouth and Salisbury City replay)
Nottingham Forest and Sheffield United were guinea pigs for the referee using a whistle.
Forest captain Sam Weller Widdowson invented shinpad made out of wood. Soft bastad.
They run out to the music of Robin Hood.
They have dropped so low that they are facing the "likes" of us.

Edit: Ignore this.

And Chelsea still haven't

We have played Aston Villa, but again that was before they won the trophy

Did Aston Villa not win the European cup in the early 80's? and we played them at home and drew and then got hammered away.

1. Nottingham has a 700 yr old fair called the goose fair (on this weekend) one of the oldest in Europe.
2. Ian Paice of Deep Purple is from Nottingham.
3. Jesse Boot founder of Boots the chemist was born in Nottingham and opened his 1st store in the city.
4. Its known as the gun-crime capital of the UK with 53 gun murders in 2003.
5. Not sure if this is an urban myth but it's reported that females outnumber males 7 to 1 in Nottingham, the highest in Britain.

Villa won the European Cup in 1981 (Peter Withe scoring the only goal, I think) and we played Villa in the League Cup in 1974.
