What happened to make us start scoring again?
Did we change the team round? Borrow a striker? Or was it just a confidence thing?

OK I know we didn't exactly break any goalscoring records once the drought ended, but at least we were getting a goal a game, which we aren't doing at the moment.

Brian Honour skipped around three tackles and feigned to shoot before slipping the ball into Andy Saville's feet, before Saville simply "passed" the ball into the corner of the net with the keeper out of position. That's how it happened - a simple piece of good football.

I reckon we're seriously over complicating things in front of goal. Only Matty Robson seems to want to have a crack from outside the box and he usually digs his toe in or shins it. The message ought to be 'have a crack from anywhere.' Sooner or later one will go in.

in either case, the side didn't change too much from one game to the next. Maybe having too much choice is a bad thing after all???

Nah. Don't think any of them every scored a goal. Certainly not Martin Hodge.

Bloody hell Nicky Peverell that’s a name I haven’t heard in a while.

I remember the lad scoring a beauty on his debut against Southport in the cup, thought we’d actually signed a decent forward.

How wrong was I :laugh:

Didn’t we sign him along with Phil Gilchrist from the smoggies???

In fairness, Peverill went to Barrow FC and was big in the Unibond. Says it all really.....

McGuckin was slow even as an 18 year old. Must have ground to a halt after his bad injuries.

If I remember rightly the last goal before those games was Savilles penalty to beat Crystal Palace,& about halfway through those 13 Saville missed a penalty.

And Phil Wilson....who I haven't seen since he got nowhere in the English Leaugues and went to the US....but what a name....it was like a babies arm holding a 2 litre bottle of woodpecker with a Granny Smiths cellotaped to the end!!!!
