Porter- 5- missed a sitter

this is how i rated him

and by his standards he did miss a sitter

a lot of people clamoured for his recall and a fair few of these moaning and in a weird way chip is right - they are hypocritical and out of order.

But the fireball replies all seem a little over the top - a touch too personal for me - a bit creepy almost - bordering on churlish

personally i don't know Porter and i dont care what he gets up to away from the pitch - i see him at school and he seems ok at times but not being 'star struck' and all fascinated with Pools players I'm not going to talk to him even though i really want to ask him how did he feel that he never got a club in spain and ended up at pools and so on -for research purposes of course - but we both have better things to do.

his missus is a very nice lady in a very nice person way not a pervy shes fit as fook way the kid seems happy at school here, and if the family is settled here, then thats half of the battle to a players form being good when they are from overseas.

if he's not picked tuesday it'll be to the pairing of moore and barker so far and the elevation of the club to 3rd place and not the comments of chip or anyone else on this board.

until he gets full fitness and confidence he may be better off as a sub for a short while

a good servant all the same and one swallow dont make a summer (but it does a fridsy night!)

Here, here...let's hope Joel plays at least some part and bangs a few in tomorrow.

I don't usually post links to my videos but:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnALQvm_25g

This is what he can do. Give him time and be patient with him. He WILL come good, he ALREADY has this season when he's come on as a sub. He WILL get there in the end.

And I hope he doesn't read some of the negative comments that said he didn't care or try. Football's a game of opinions and I can accept that some people thought he was poor in the last match. But to say he wasn't trying when he clearly was is something I thought was harsh. At the end of the day he had a chance, he missed...and I'm sure he'll learn from it.

Nobody kept stubbornly denying the others were bad though did they, so it didn't need to be repeated over and over.
In the first round of comments nobody singled out Joel for criticism. His name was mentioned, sure, but no more than the others.
If you go out looking for a reaction you'll get it. If anyone had singled out Antwi to defend him he'd probably have gone down the same road too.

Well I stick by my view that we'll see the best of him if DW gives him a run of a few games to get his match sharpness back.

And that I think our best pairing would be Moore and Porter.

Does that make me a bad person too?

we all know that players read these messages, but that's the nature of football today with the internet being so popular. There will be people who criticise most of the time, and people who never criticise at all. Human nature and that, optimists and pessimists. Their nature will filter through by what they post.
If I think criticism is warranted, I will generally try to be fair with it, and use some kind of mitigation for a perceived poor performance by a player. There's only one player who gets regular-ish first team action at HUFC who I do not rate, and that is my opinion of him. Most people know who that is, and I think his natural level is the division below, at best.
If the players perform as they did at Luton, Leeds, Orient etc, then they deservedly get the plaudits. If players were perfect every week at Pools, and playing like they did in those away games, they wouldn't be here in the first place - they'd already be playing in the Premier League.
The players shouldn't take it to heart, they will know who the cranks are (headlander etc) and simply ignore those people.
Personally, I would just laugh at most of this, because I don't actually give two f-u-cks what people think about me, life's too short. You filter out the people you're bothered about, and basically f-u-ck the rest.
