Word from Hull is that this lad isn't much cop.

I can see the sense in putting him in right back and McCunnie in midfield, like. As long as he's a competent right back.

Absolutely crazy. I always try to give DW the benefit of the doubt after what he has achieved but sometimes he amazes me sctatchinghead

We have played eight league games and scored 14 goals, a goalscoring start we have bettered just three times in the last 50 years. This season only Leeds have scored more, but only 7 of the other 23 have conceded more. So Wilson decides he needs more defensive options and brings in a bloke he's worked with before on a month's loan. Sorry, I've tried to see a problem with that and I just can't. Help me out? sctatchinghead

The reason I find it ridiculous is because we have Ben Clark available. If we didn't have Ben Clark then I'd agree with you.

We may well have scored a load of goals but as someone who goes to most of the matches, you must agree we have looked very weak at times in the final third and could do with that strengthening.

Sure, and we've also looked shaky at the back at times and I think that needs strengthening too. As our goals for column has been up to scratch and our goals against column hasn't, I think the defence is more of a priority. I also have no idea what DW has in mind for Coles. Maybe Boland is struggling and he wants Coles at right back to allow McCunnie to step forward. If so then it must be because he thinks Coles is a better option at full back than Ben Clark or Ali Gibb. Or maybe he wishes to use Clark at either right back or defensive mid and wants Coles as cover in defence. He may even plan to use Coles at LEFT back.

Some valid points MJ. You must have played football at a reasonable level.

He once scored a cracker during morning break, circa 1984, mind you Peter Brogden was in goal........

does seem a strange move, although clearly DW knows him from his Brizzol days. Clarke or Nelse on their way perhaps?

Hull City, squad number 5.
Doesn't seem like a right back (unless he's very versatile ?)

Wholehearteadly agree, I remeber him at Bristol and really liked him, its not really worked for him since he was sold but Wilson will know all about him.
