We don’t have the fire power to hurt them
And it’s not realistic to expect clean sheet after clean sheet at this level
hopefully FGR arent as good as Savage thinks they are...

I can’t help it, but see them as rich man’s toy train set/ hobby.

Believe me, it was not comfortable.

is that because we have been dummed down so much over the last few years to expect something to go wrong all the time because of it happening.

No. Southend absolutely battered us and if any of our recent keepers had been in goal we would have been hammered. Cartwright kept us in it and we were able to regroup at at half time and were able to equalize. Even then, Cartwright pulled off two outstanding one on one saves. I was there. We got a point but it was far from comfortable. Southend had pace all over the park and their passing was crisp and accurate, particularly in the first half. We were hanging on.

2nd half was relatively comfortable but we were also lucky not to be more than 1 down after the first 30 mins---if the roles had been reversed we would have been claiming we battered them.

If you don’t put the ball in the net you’ve failed, no prizes for near misses..and Southend had near misses.

Saying that though can't see anything other than a comfortable win for them though 2-0 they are probably 1 of about 5 teams capable of winning the league and we're probably going to be sat back until they score.

Yeah, the bookies might aswell pack up and clear off.
PTID wrote:Well I'm sure SG won't make the mistake he did for the Southend game, I don't think we'll be set up quite so defensively or that we'll be showing them much respect from the start.
I find the logic a bit strange in that no matter the fact that we win or draw we must have played against shite teams, which in the case if a draw means we must be equally shite. Does that make us and Southend both shite?

Just go out and give them a battle and see what happens, these hiding behind the curtains defeatist attitudes earn you nothing.

I dont think people are its normally our managers who set up not to have a go at these teams. Sitting back all game against top sides normally ends up in one result.
