Renamed in memory of John Hawksworth, a stalwart member who passed this day 2nd August 2020. RIP Mr Monkeybutt.
Sadly we must add the name of Kevin Minton, Aka Mr Ripper who passed 30/6/22. Kev was also Mr politically incorrect but a nicer lad you could never meet.

Parkes rested I assume--makes sense with 2 games in quick succession--be good to see how defence does without his organization

Kouogun coming in should make the defence a bit more dynamic, he looks pretty quick from what I've seen and aggressive into challenges. For the first time in years we will have a pretty pacy back line.

free kick in their half and we play it short rather than put it in their box....end up our keeper hoofing it--never understand the thought process there

Fair Play to Grayson--we look solid at back without tempting fate and have a plan on the break

Light years ahead of the shite we endured at the start of last season no matter what the results are. Let's hope we dont give them a daft goal and hopefully we snatch a third.

Sweet baby Jesus and the tiny orphans!! We scored directly from a from a corner with a cracking header. And it wasn't Eifion Williams or Joe Allon. What's going on?

Miley blowing out of his arse but no mobility on bench to replace him---just made a cracking foul tho and conned the ref into giving us a free kick
Altrincham are a good side in fairness very comfortable on ball for this level

Cracking result this against a more than decent Altrincham side!
Defence excellent 3 real Brickshithouses at back who are also fairly mobile is a huge upgrade on last year !
Reinforcements desperately needed so the first 11 dont run themselves into the ground but way surpassing early season expectations-well done Grayson so far !

Hartlepool United are happy to announce the signing of Besart Topallaj on loan from Bromley until the end of January with an option for the move to be made permanent.

Classic away performance, again a solid team effort with none of them having a bad game. Not the prettiest but we did play some nice stuff in brief spells, but 7 points from 9 with 2 away and 3 clean sheets will do for me.

Altrincham were actually very good--our 3 at the back though were all excellent proper defenders and no stupid mistakes--with Cartwright behind them it bodes well

That tackle from Walker towards the end...couple of them every time he gets on would be heart-warming

Cartwright was immense again.

We had two shots on goal. And they were both spot on.
They had three, but it looks like we've found a decent keeper.
The work rate from Pools tonight was brilliant. The lads absolutely ran their legs off.

Agreed on the workrate , it's not sustainable though over a 46 game season without some squad back up....

We've got back up, we just don't know how effective it will be. Grayson looks to have built a team that first and foremost know their jobs and work tirelessly for each other.
Just because some of them didn't cover themselves in glory last season doesn't mean he can't get a better tune out of them. And I'm pretty sure there'll be a couple of loanees through the door by mid September.

A couple of good signings still needed we still look bit weak in second half of games, mainly because they run their legs off, great to see but we do need more quality off the bench. Great win though, some really good stuff first half. Nice to see a Pools team fight like that.
