How are we going to survive, need to get the recipe book out or more likely a visit to Iceland for the ping meals.

Got me thinking there, the old man when he was back from his voyages would send me down to knights age 10 with a list of various items he required mostly Indian and Italian stuff but going in there was an education ..all the staff were blokes in white coats and the smell, especially of coffee sticks with me to this day….a deli before deli’s were heard of, but class.
Mind you, he kept me of school one Monday to go down for his order…cushty…but as I stepped out the door the bus full of my class mates in the first year at seniors,, drove past going back from Seaton Baths…all waving  …..luckily the teachers up front were unaware.

Aye the wife was on about going last night oddly enough…and the Hurtigruten….another one she wants to try….explained it’s basically Norwegian postmen on a ship and she’d be bored after about the 40th fijord…she said she’ll see her mates to organise it

Jamie, it depends on the vessel.
When I’m down on the Solent and the teatime shuffle of liners depart Southampton..vulgar monstrosities looking like multi story car parks which are glorified floating resorts slide past…must be a fecking nightmare…go for a smaller vessel going to somewhere of interest….not the usual crap at the usual locations.
The bigger the ship, the further out you are from where you want to visit as the new monsters are now having to berth at locations like oil refineries because of the vessels drought and length…a bit like docking at Seal Sands for York.

An ex MD boss of mine called HR "a self fullfilling philosophy" and should be disbanded and the work done by line managers except for some of top end stuff.
He was an ex "Personnel" manager...........................
