Grayson Sack Sweepstakes

Renamed in memory of John Hawksworth, a stalwart member who passed this day 2nd August 2020. RIP Mr Monkeybutt.

Sadly we must add the name of Kevin Minton, Aka Mr Ripper who passed 30/6/22. Kev was also Mr politically incorrect but a nicer lad you could never meet.

Grayson Sack Sweepstakes

My bet is between 11 and 18 October after a few tough league games and getting knocked out of the fa cup qualifying rounds

Hope I’m wrong but if I was a betting man that’s where I’d stick a few quid

I think that Grayson is our best hope of having a decent season. He has a tough job but with his contacts and expertise there is no reason why he can’t build a competitive team.

Nowt against him personally am just going on history…I think a telling indicator maybe how many of the kids we have on the bench come Yeovil, we are very short on numbers and obvious quality so far…lot of unknowns and I hope he doesn’t get injured again sort of players….maybe we will get lucky

I'm going for the rank outside bet 1000-1 that he will last the WHOLE season!

SG is no mug, having worked for the Oyston's at Blackpool and Ken Bates at Leeds both with success. He should be able to manage the Rajanator.

Also think that the fanbase will be a bit more tolerant given all the background noise regarding a takeover or rather lack of. Reckon if he can successfully navigate us into the FA Cup first round proper or beyond, he'll be good for the season

I actually think the opposite--he's come in, mentioned the playoffs and the fact he can get a good team together based on how the chairman is backing him.....so he's absolutely tied himself to current regime (not that he has much choice) No takeover and a slow start on the pitch and he's going to be right in the firing line.

He hasn't really allied himself to Raj though on his twitter thingy. He mentions stuff going on at the club which is unsettling for the fans but also says pretty much that he and we just have to get on with things.
He's also dead right when he says that we have no god given right to get promotion, but 11th place isn't acceptable by his standards. And as he says, if (a big if as things stand) we get off to a flyer crowds of 5000 and higher will happen.
Hopefully he can turn the tide and get a good feeling between the fans and team irrespective of boardroom shenanigans.

Hes said hes going for promotion and he says that with knowledge of how he is being backed----sounds like aligning himself to me--I wish him well, but am tired of giving people 'the benefit of the doubt' and 'seeing how things go'---if we start poorly I predict an overall negative atmosphere he will be included under

Hopefully we start well, surprise the odds and have a good season -ie make the playoffs

For finishing 20th.
Promotion Dosent come into play this season.
Only a takeover will see his 2 yearer get honoured.
Time to wise up n follow the evidence of this rapid decline.

Probably still be here in 5 years time when we aspire to qualify for the Div 7 play offs.

On past history no one is safe…trouble is that’s not how football works, so can we please stop running things like a conventional business and opt for how other clubs do it.

We've tried it all under this regime.
3 yearers to DC n Askey.
76 year old so called consultant.

Top kids coach Skippy

Nepalese champions manager.

The super jock Hartley.

King of Wales Harrison.

Bullshitters Sarly n Curle.

And many others.

They obviously have to knock out the Budget is very competitive to appreciate getting the honourable cream job of managing at Pools under our great leader.

Who's the next Scapegoat?.

As far as I know there's never been a professional football club manager who has turned up for his press interview and said "well the owners are tight fisted idiots who couldn't run a bath and with the quality of players I'll be limited to in the shoe string budget they've given me we'll be lucky to avoid relegation".
Every new manager says more or less the same, "club should be doing better, want promotion, chairman is backing me blah blah blah".
Thought it strange he mentions the fact that the owners (not the chairman, not Raj who he refers to by his first name, also plural)?
Also he says clubs in turmoil or issues with the chairman or owner are nothing new to him, he just gets on with the job.
Hope he gets off to a good start

It will be tough until the new year but he will survive as it will turn around after that and pools will finish not far out of the relegation places, mid table at best.

even as a joke you cannot put the words massive and rochdale in the same sentance. the only club where 60,s halifax fans could take the piss out of there ground, the land of spots.
