30 games 8 goals, not a bad player but in a never ending recent pattern not as good as those who have just left

3 goals in 900 minutes worth of play. Then gets injured and we don't see him in a pools shirt for the rest of the season.

I'll go 17 from 38 games in the league

Also a late winner in the 4th Qualifying round of the FA. Cup which sees us drawn away in the First Round Proper at Spotland. Where we then get our arses handed to us on a plate by a Mancini masterclass, LIVE on Match of the Day. banghead

I suspect there’ll be moments of talent, but….?

As I've said many times it's not what they do for other clubs pre and post Pools, but Johnsons games played, goals scored, level of football, pre Pools is far superior to Mani's. We can only hope we can get the best out of Johnson as we did Mani, it's a while since Johnsons played at as low a level of football so fingers crossed he keeps fit and thrives here.

He can have as an illustrious past as you like but he's an older guy with a patchy recent record. Mani was reliable, scored goals and he was already ours.

But he's gone and we have to hope Johnson can do at least as well. Mani's record for games played (apart from 1 season at Halifax) and goals scored (apart from with us) would have most up in arms on here as his record was pretty abysmal to be fair.
Let's hope Johnson does well eh?

Exactly. Yes, Mani was a fan's favourite; charismatic and seemed like a thoroughly nice bloke, but so was Gavin Holohan and we've moved on from him ( & plenty of others before ). Let's see how Johnson performs once he's put in a competitive situation.
He might be another Mani, he might be another Campbell. We'll see soon enough.

His overall career goal scoring record is 202 goals in 373 games which is very impressive. Manis is only 85 goals in 320 (and not at the same level).

lets see what he is all about first. guess it would be easier for him replacing campbell in the side than it will manny. feel they will be two different types of player anyway. if he is a mirerable git off the pitch so what as long as he turns it on where he is paid to do it, on the pitch.

going off his last season he was far from being reliable scoring goals. missed more easy chances than anybody else and the best you could say was he was actually there to miss them.

We know he's gone. We're on abouy how we didn't need to lose him. It was avoidable. Like a lot of things the Raj regime does.

It's the player that decides on his next move at the end of a contract not the club. So it was only avoidable if he decided he wanted to stay, he's never stayed in one place very long anyway and his coming to us for more money than Halifax says much.
None of know what efforts were made to keep him or even if the manager rates him? Players, managers, and even owners come and go.
The thread was about Danny Johnson predictions wasn't it, not the mourning of a journeyman footballer who decided to move on.

Never mind goals, How many defensive clearances from set pieces did Mani make.

He wont be doing any clearing headers from corners.

Here are his stats, a bit short of the 200 career goals Grayson said he had, unless he is including friendlies

Good stats though. About 2/3rds of his career played at a higher level than NL, same approx ratio for his goals scored. An overall record if a goal every 165mins on the pitch.
If we can keep him fit and playing and he maintains that sort of goalscoring form he'll do for me. All ifs and buts of course.

especially if thats more or less a goal every two games he plays and not one who scores 5 in two and then thats it for weeks on end. no idea which type of goalscorer he is.
