Look guys, be sensible about this. It’s absolutely true that both poster and administrators can be taken to the high court for libel and for that you need a barrister. They ain’t cheap!

Think before you post and consider whether your post strays into legal issues. Derwent and I have had in-depth discussions and for the short term moderation will be stricter than before but only in the areas i’ve outlined. There is no censure of subjects or anything else, just things that can be considered libellous.

Very much déjà vu and to be honest, we were warned by the Darlo fans and we even warned ourselves when Raj took over.

I am not going to give my thoughts on Raj at the moment but all I can say he is being very petty indeed and coming across as a bully!

Derwent asked why I was probing with my questions before.
Well without going into too much detail, I have been on both ends of libel cases.

It happened many years ago and what was being said by several members on a forum about a very horrible subject were on such a heinous level that things needed to be done. A letter was posted to the moderator and the members involved were taken to task by myself, things were highlighted what had been said and what I was going to do next. The offshoot of it all was that the moderator issued an apology on the forum, every member involved issued a similar apology and after a bit of toing and froing, things were settled and their apologies were accepted.

I would also like to add that Raj's letter pales into insignificance and is the work of someone trying to assert his authority over the fans. I would like to see his face if I ever sat down with him and explained what had happened to me and if I had accepted an apology in a very serious matter, then so should he in what I class as a very minor alteraction with members from the bunker. Personally he should be ashamed of himself but that is my opinion.

Back to what had happened to me, to put things straight with the communities I was dealing with, I put out a statement on the forums that were discussing the said subject. Once this statement was in the public eyes, I was made aware by the authorities that I could be prosecuted under the libel laws. Knowing that each and every fact in the statement was true, I said go ahead! Not happy with the attitude shown, I turned the tables and sued the individual in question. Anything they thought was libelous was not even mentioned, they put up no defence and pleaded guilty in court and admitted every statement written was true.

Now back to Raj and the bunker, I think all that is needed is an apology to Raj by the owner of the bunker and the posters in question. Yes it may be hard to issue an apology, I do believe that certain person(s) joined the bunker recently in order to disrupt and annoy several long standing members on purpose. Perhaps what was written which upset Raj comes from such provocation, who knows but a letter has been issued and we need to deal with it.

That is my suggestion for the way forward and because we are dealing with a certain individual's behaviour that we should all by now be fully aware of, I suggest we do not fuel the fire anymore!

only if you have the true facts and statistics to prove it. take that even further on any other subject. anyone writing something that the know damned well is wrong at the outset deserves everything they get apart from annoying readers or building up hopes on a subject.

The request / demand was that specific posts were taken down when I read them it was hard to make a case for not deleting them. If I was Raj Singh I’d be upset with those posts. I take your point on recent members and I’m with you, certain usernames have joined and immediately tried to cause carnage. In fact the worst of the posts referred to was the one and only post from a new user.

I’ve been very lax with moderating believing that posts tend to either fizzle out or an argument is won. I can make excuses about lack of spare time recently but it doesn’t wash, I’ve failed to monitor and whilst Derwent did his best and warned of this outcome i remained pretty much inactive.

I’m not sure that the letter was an attempt at silencing the fans rather a request that all comments in relation to RS are fair and not abusive. Frankly that doesn’t seem too much to ask.

If Raj doesn't sell I can see the bunker being very quiet for the foreseeable future unfortunately.

We do have to be careful, couldn't agree more.
Personally I have no more idea whether a sale will happen or not than the next person.
Difficult and frustrating as it can be, my stance is wait and see. One minute hopes are up and then they're dashed.
The biggest sadness is the way situations like this divide the fans. Now we have threats of litigation against the fans.
However the law is the law, no matter how much of an ass we consider it to be, so we have to stay within it.
We, that is all of us, need to make sure that the man who gave us this forum does not face potential financial ruin because of this gift he gave us.
We have to believe and be aware of the inherent danger that can be caused by our remarks.
It is easy to laugh the threat off and treat it as funny but there is nothing funny about losing your home due to another person's inability to be sensible.
We need to be all together on this.

Well said derwent, a time for us fans and the bunker to unite and ensure nothing can be held against us and more importantly take the worry away from Mr I.
