Hopefully they wont be needed against this really piss poor Sunday league team. The lads better perform after losing to this lot earlier in the season.

Kennybottles said yesterday that this problem is due to the maga long running post at the top of the board that is on 254 pages and when it hits 255 the site will go tits up or something along those lines. It sounds like that post need a few pages deleting or something. A few are having the same problem as you this week. I dont understand any of it but hey.

Just show the lads in the changing room, highlights of the game where Ebbsfleet beat us 1-0, if that doesn't stir them up to go and thrash them, nothing will!!!

fixed. Theres a total attachment setting in the configuration that was set to 1000mb, I’ve changed it to 10’000. As it’s taken 20 years to reach 1000 there shouldn’t be a repeat of the problem anytime soon.

That's not exactly what I said. The problem with posters not being able to upload attachments is one problem - which reminded me that another potential (and similar) problem might occur soon due to a default limit on the number of pages allowed on a thread. I've been posting on the "Word Association" thread recently, and the number of pages caught my eye as I'm a bit of a computer geek, and someone who recognises the significance of the number 256*

Mr I has confirmed that there was a maximum amount of computer memory set for attachments which he has updated, so that problem is now fixed. But there will also (probably) be a default number of maximum pages per topic - which on another web-forum I am a member of is set to 256* pages and that has caused problems for the owner of the site.

I would therefore recommend as a precaution that Mr I checks that setting before we get to page 256* otherwise it could cause problems.

Regards, Sir Kenneth of Bottles.

*256 is a throwback to ancient 8-bit computers as it's the first decimal number you need 9 bits to represent in binary rather than 8 (or fewer). But depending upon when the board software was first written, and/or which computer language it was written in, and/or the age of the programmer(s) who wrote it, it is often still used as a default value.

Thanks but we’re on page 1434 already in this forum. I set it to 999999 from day one. In terms of posts in a given topic there is no specific limit although when a topic gets very very long it can obviously slow loading time.

Sound, just thought I'd mention it as I've seen it happen.

No need mate. I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to computers (and electronics) and can talk shite about them for hours.

Our lass got sick of all my gadgets, and agreed I could have the back bedroom for a "man-cave" about 5 years ago.

I only come out when I need a shite or me dinner's ready...

really wish i was the same. seen others downloading from other sites and looks dead easy until i try and always forget one procedure to have to go back to square one till i lose my rag and stop. unlike other new subjects that come up or at school those who teach how to do this and that on computers seem the worse than on any other subject i have ever started to learn.

It's horses for courses Accy, and I was born with the "nerd" gene.

As a gadgie of a certain age, I should be able to fix any problem on a car - but I'm absolutely fucking useless.

I don't know me big ends from me bellend...

i was always fine with cars until more electronics came into it. like computers i could never get my heard around them as you cannot see electricity and can only smell it if you cocked the job up.
