Lots of noise on this board following Raj Singh’s (apparent) departure from the club. Everyone is having their say with conflicting views of what may or should happen going forward in respect of potential new owners, players contracts, administration etc etc.

The only common agreement appears to be that the club MUST retain NL status over the forthcoming weeks, which means that the players MUST perform consistently better than they have since Skippy was appointed as first team coach. With hindsight, some of the reasons behind the decline are obvious but surely now is the time for fans to unite and back the players to the hilt regardless of what has happened recently?

Not sure if anyone at or previously connected with the club or media (ie Skippy, Lenny, Walter Mitty Shithead, R. Moore, R Stelling, J Stelling, C Hignett, J Allon, K Houchen, B Honour etc etc or maybe even the ghosts of B Clough, V Barker C Knowles, J Smart, etc from beyond the grave is going to issue a rallying call at this critical moment in the clubs 117 year history.

If not, it is surely time to do so, UTP, C’MNON YOU BLUES, Never Say Die!

You're post was going well- right up until you referred to Pools as Blues :naughty:

Yes we historically play in Blue (and white) as well as collectively feeling rather blue about the fortunes (or lack of) of OUR club. However, We are NOT Blues (that's Brum, Sarfend and many others) refred

We are POOLS!

we will keep our status in this league but will the league itself allow us to compete in it next which is the main problem. would be nice to see a few more turning up on saturday and more so the week after with a normal ko time and show the football world that the town and the area want a football club.

Whoops, apologies Kettering - you are absolutely correct of course- I’m not sure what happened there - I was watching Chelsea at the time so it may have been a case of subliminal suggestion......sounds like a reasonable excuse anyway!

Well there are standards to uphold Leggie!

Though got to admit I must have mellowed after 20+ years at the chalkface. Smokey's been warned and has taken responsibility for his buffoonery! So further sanctions are suspended, for now, though Woah Betide him if he repeats this foolhardy mistake

I mean, I didn't even insist he addressed me as Sir! bbolt

Schools nowadays….   at my senior school, all boys, we had the history teacher who’d served in Burma in WW2 recalling how he made dum dum bulllets one Xmas before breaking up…   ….but a lot of the older teachers had served in the war which explained why they never had a discipline problem,

mind you some did not and discipline and getting people to do what you want and not the other way round just happens and something that cannot be taught. never had a problem as a bus inspector with staff and on the football field reffing. was never a soft touch but was always myself willing to mix and having a laugh and a joke and a bit of piss taking to get what i wanted. some people try and change character to become something they will never be to become a laughing stock.

Spot on Accy- you have to choose your battles carefully as you have to WIN them otherwise you lose credibility.

You can't fight everybody all of the time, just not sustainable over the longer term and you do need to get people on side to some degree.

As a former legend of this parish once said in response to being challenged,
'We can talk about it for twenty minutes, before coming to the conclusion that I'm right!'

You have to use all the tools at your disposal - mine being a 6ft 4 'Geordie Unit' combined with a Poolie pisstaking sense of humour in the East Midlands, keeps them on their toes!

At the end of the day when you strip it all back it's one big act which you refine over time- probably similar to being a stand up comedian!

One thing I've deliberately never done, is to live within the catchment area of the school I work at. (This is not such an issue at Primary school level) Partly to avoid having dog shit pushed through my letterbox, and also means I can wonder around as a 'civilian' and not be drawn into issues in the community by kids or parents for that matter.

'I wouldn't say I'm the Best- but I'm in the Top 1!'   bbolt
