Caught a chat on tv this morning about the price of a match day ticket….in this case at Man U…prices start at £66.
No way could I justify paying that for a ticket…..seems the nature of supporters has changed too….especially in the pocket.

£66- for a shit view, miles from the pitch. That's assuming you're going by yourself, you've still got transport costs, and that's without buying a programme and food or drink

It's tourist prices which is who they're trying to attract nowadays- so they can rinse them for as much coin as possible.

It's obscene, particularly given that they're not even the best team in Manchester, let alone the country.

Nothing boils my piss more than plastic Manc/ Scouse/ Chelski/ Spurs/ Arse 'fans' - who have never been to an actual game but refer to their team of choice as 'WE' - I take an instant dislike to.

Even more insulting is when they look down their plastic nose at Pools or other less fashionable clubs and start taking the piss- odious kunts the lot of them! :angry-screaming:

That’s what I was thinking…all these top clubs must have dumped their fan bases for those nice middle class ‘fans’ with the money.

I remember someone saying to me in the 80’s that the only Pool for him was Liverpool..I told him to fuck right off being a Hartlepool fundamentalist.
Found out years later he’d never been to Liverpool never mind Anfield.

Unfortunately with so much Premier League football on tv the kids are brainwashed at an early age to supporting a premier League team. In my day the only live football where could watch for 90 minutes was your home town team.

I regularly go to a particular side in Europe to watch games and I’ve paid anywhere between €15 and €115 depending on the opposition. For all the €115 is over the top, you can still go to games for ‘cheap’. What would be a €15 game there is probably a game v Ipswich here and that will still fetch £50 minimum. It’s obscene.

i made sure my lad was never going to follow the crowd by watching a premier league team on television. i certainly would not have taken him to a game. wanted him to be a poolie but it was too far to travel from the midlands. he got the choice of any lower division club to support within 100 miles from home and after watching saint and greavesy plumped for stockport due to kevin francis who became a right pain in the arse for us. times have certainly changed where being an exile and watching a team was nearly unheard of and became a treat back then.
