Marvellous, if you’re not a full shilling.
Another slap in the face.

If millions refused to pay it it would be interesting to see the outcome.

I got told if the TV detectives turn up at your house and can't find an aerial.
They can't fine or prosecute you.

Not sure if that's genuine like!

Nah it’s not true… sadly, TV licences are sold under the intimidation of possibly going to jail for not having one ,which I suspect is the reason why most people buy one.
Bearing in mind you cannot go to jail for not paying a TV Livence, only for failing to pay a fine imposed for not having a TV Licence.
But if someone cannot actually afford a TV Licenceridiculous. in the first place, a fine is just gonna make it worse leading to jail sentences with the extra financial burden a fine imposes.
The fine can be up to £1,000 but the average is £250….

They have to be able to prove your watching BBC channels, iPlayer or listening to BBC radio apparently, if you watched only on demand TV channels, nothing live or Netflix you in effect are not breaking the law not having one.
This would apply to your phone too, you could not download or watch anything live on it without a license, although proving that I would assume, just like your TV would be difficult.

It would be great, but who’s gonna lead the charge….? Evidence suggests the first one ‘over the top’ usually cops it.
And there’s the rub, martyrs are needed. :angry-tappingfoot:

its any live tv and not just the chief woke channel thats involved. they get the most of the licence money but the others get a few crumbs off the table also. every house on my estate people due to its design live on the second floor therefore its impossible for the snoops to see what you are watching. without a warrent they cannot force entry to your property however much they try to con residents.
