YCST up in arms about the policing of the game at the VIC last January. Judging from the videos supplied their 'troublemakers' are daft teenage lads (same as ours) and setting the dogs on them looks well over the top. Wonder what it cost HUFC to have such a large police presence?

Incidentally, the report contains no criticism of HUFC, other than some dubious accounting over Rink End capacity (which has now been reduced by 200) and none to speak of about our fans.

For the record, my experience of North Yorkshire Police's presence outside their ground a couple of weeks ago is that it was completely non-confrontational and low key (can't say what it was like at York railway station as I drove down).

again its football fans all being tarred with the same brush doing what they have done for years, going to a match to watch their team. its not some demonstation going on even if there are a few naughty lads amongst them. like stewarding it does seem to vary from club to club how you are treated. if one club and police force can act with sense then so can the others.

not just by the police its the stewards and the clubs who are as bad. one thing i do hate is if we had say 500 fans going into an away end that holds 2,000 they,d be forced into a small area that held that number with the other part roped off. not everyone is happy to do a tinned sardine impersonation for a couple of hours especially if like me they prefer and need a bit of space around them.

Worst attitude police At number one Halifax. I don't have to say no more.

At 2. Cheltenham in play off game they where in riot gear head to rubber steel toe cap boots.

3. Sheffield wed coke cup mid week. Just parked up and walked down a street that was fairly long, police where just putting barriers across junction to stop cars and people using it.

. He hadn't finished with barrier and could have let us through he stop us 3 in total.. Pulled the rest of the barrier in place and said, with a moronic grin on his face that we had to go back up the street and go another way. A total dickhead. We just laughed it of.. He was like the bra men of Cleveland put in a police uniform.. You looking at my barrier.

Most bastard stewards.. By far and away Rochdale...

Waited, waited to half time to get people kicked out
.. There crime, standing up in the seats during the game. Saw a young lad cying because they kick his dad out.. It's a wounder it didn't cause a riot. This was a while ago when we were both the 2nd Div.

For balance best stewards experience Stockport night match years ago.. Somehow I got there before team bus, and was stood In the away end by my self. Stewards offered me a seat in there main stand.. Which I politely declined.. In the end I think there was about 40 of us there. Most lived that side of country.

All the above in my opinion.

I don't want the thought police knocking on the door and taken away for re-education.. 2 + 2= 5 Etc.

Some away fans do behave like terrorist scum  Visits from Leeds supporters when we were in League 1 with them were always wild. And the sheep-shagging, seat-wrecking retards who follow Carlisle away aren't much better.

But it's a failure of police intelligence (there's a contradiction in terms) to over-prepare for York City supporters - can't remember it ever kicking off with them in town, or when Poolies were at Bootham Crescent for that matter.

oh for the days of just going into grounds without the need of segregation that carried on in rugby league years after it did in football. so you support another team so what. if it wasn,t for geography or family reasons you could be part of the opposition fanbase. both sets of fans want their team to win and how football is played now there is little from opposing players to wind you up apart from goal celebrations we saw a few years back.

Think there'd be less antagonism if the police were as accommodating and helpful to football supporters as they are to the JSO lawbreakers and other protesting groups.
Can you imagine what would happen if we a went to an away ground and sat down in the road blocking all vehicles for a couple of hours?
Two tier policing at its most obvious, amd this time not Starmers policy it's been the way for decades.

or at the vic for that matter if we demonstrated by sitting down and bringing the town to a standstill even with a legitamate reason for our protest.
