In my many years as a Poolie we've traditionally ended the season around about 14th (with exception of the IOR pumping some money in years). Occasionally much better. Occasionally much worse.

I've seen nothing so far this season that suggests anything other than around about 14th. But we live in hope.

Based on what I have seen so far. Highest position 10th, lowest 14. We are certainly playing better but very naive with the amount of sending offs. We also play better when teams don’t press us and commit men forward. I didn’t see the York game because I didn’t realise it was an early kick off so can’t comment on that one. So let’s see how we do in the coming months which will define our season. I think the bunker is split 50/50 so far.

14thin div 3 or4 is acceptable.

Struggling to compete in a shit standard div 5 is deplorable n unacceptable unless any of our fans are a absolute helmets :angry-tappingfoot:

if we cannot better last seasons final position then its been another season of disaster where nothing has improved or changed. without a whiff of improvement anybody even thinking of buying a season ticket in the future are either loaded or need medical help.

And it will be for some time unless we get a new owner/owners who are prepared to invest in Pools.

After this season all the ingredients are there for future relegation battles.

No more Parachute dosh.
STs down again. League One prices frozen.
Out of contract players : semi decent ones get their agents on overtime.
:shit ones offered take it or leave it pay cuts.

LL replaced by one of them coaches who crack under the pressure.

Injury crisis continues.

Having said that.
Don't think we can rule most of that out from 5pm this Saturday.

On the money sadly  And you can bet your bottom dollar Raj will squeeze the tickets / merchandise prices up yet again. banghead But this time the mugs won't be taken in by the bullshit. We simply have to get to the playoffs minimum this season to keep the supporters interested or it's all over for Raj and the start of relegation being the norm.rakxe

And that's why most fans realise this is a last chance saloon season.
Was expecting a quickish upturn in performances after Sarly left.
We need some fast action not Bullshitters talking a good game.
That's rapidly becoming boring.

Maybe our Billy called it correct after that Scarborough friendly.

I was the first to mention the " last chance saloon " and that's exactly what this season is particularly now. If we had a proper knowledgeable owner and leader at the club we would never have gotten into this shit situation.

trouble with pools is that they have entered the last chance saloon over the years and have learned nothing. now the landlord refuses to serve em.

2 back to back home games.
Since the £100 STs about 14 years ago we've struggled major style 2 get 6 pts from these fixtures.

And I'd imagine KP will know exactly how to stifle MannyD and attack our wing backs.

6 points then.

joking apart the lower the clubs bar is set the least a manager has to do. eventually we,ll all be beaten into submission if we carry on suppoting the club to accept any crumb of comfort served up that will feal like a feast.

Not looking deludery now Mutters. I only have one online bookies account and that's Ladbrokes. I put the odds of Pools winning the playoffs ( 150/1 ) on the bunker a few weeks back and really fancied it but Ladbrokes only did champions at 500/1 so I put a daft £1 each way on that instead. I hope some of you took the 150/1 silly silly odds and if so you owe me a pint at the end of the season promotion party at our Kevs...thats if you get the special VIP invite.

It's a step in the right direction, not too long ago we would've probably lost or drawn that game as we did against an even poorer Ebbsfleet.
We're definitely creating a lot more chances and for me that's the biggest difference, if you don't create chances you won't score goals and goals win games not clean sheets. Difference between LL and Sarlls mindsets.

we beat a poor side last night and some are still using that as an xcuse for us still not being that good whilst others are bulling the game up. its one game at a time where we have ticked off 2 of the 10 with victories. still 26 games to go and whatever saturdays result is it will make no difference to where we finish. its all about improving the performances from game to game and we will win far more than we lose. play bad and sneak a win will bite you in the arse more.

6 points out of the 10 games means we have to pick up at least 14 out of the next 8 games to keep us on track and anymore points could be classed as a bonus.

Six points is not a bad start, nine after tomorrow will be better.

8 points I reckon and drop down to 20th...1 place above relegation zone.

3 games gone 2 results wrong and 1 result and score correct.
I'm good at this.

Given our upturn in form - id like to think we continue picking up points but like always Pools will have a wobble in the midst of a run. If it comes now then okay - we have a festive period to gain it back and then hopefully finish the remainder of the season with a glimmer of hope to keep up with the pack and reach playoffs - i would hate to think we are done and dusted come after xmas and have feck all to play for - the crowds really will diminish further then. Southend will be a tough game but they are having a terrible season - Yeovil we have done once already and i think the home tie will favour us again, however they are a much better outfit than the first game of the season.
Gateshead still on the march and i think that will be another humbling at their empty soulless place.
Then again its not favouring us at all with Oldham - Barnet - Tamworth as the next set of fixtures !

The teams around us play their games in hand on the 10th.
So it's time to take pleasure from wins not dress up draws in division 5.

Need 10 points from next 5 to keep up momentum. A bit more belief in our abilities and a more adventurous approach would make that achievable.

you can see how draws hurt you when you realise barnet have only lost one game less than us. do the maths and see where we would be in the table with only 2 draws and the rest wins. even if we had only won half of the drawn games and lost the rest we,d be in a comfortable play off position.

When you look at the goals and points we've recklessy given away we could easily have been sitting comfortably in the top 5 which shows what a shit league this is generally.
Time our management team started to realise this and go for wins instead of protecting a point. Having players like Lua Lua and Mancini available but hardly using them is ridiculous and they'd probably be starters at every other club in the league and possibly the league above.
Defenders at all levels hate players running at them and turning them, yet we play long ball to defenders strengths. Even when Mani or Charman wins a header there's never anyone near them to take advantage.
7 defensive players in a team playing at home is not going to win many games, the home record proves that.

Said the same things about the Barnet game, so obviously I'm going to agree

instead of just respecting our opponents i feel nothing has changed as we still look as if we fear them. upart from a few periods of the game saturday looked more like a good away performance rather than a home one.
