If that's right we're up by about 40 per game compared to last season, holding up remarkably well considering the price increases and standard of football that's been on show.

We're down by 466 fans per game compared to the first 8 games of the season last year (4091 vs 3625). If you then look at only the teams we've played in both seasons we are 482 down: 4161 (last season) vs 3679 (this season). The closest we come is if you include Bromley for Sutton and Oxford City for Braintree (who were the least attended southern team who aren't in the league anymore). Even then we are still 379 fans down per game...

The average gate per game so far is higher than the average for last season though. Hard to compare how specific game crowds have changed given they could be played on different days and times. Away support is probably down so far would be my guess too looking at the handfuls that have been up here so far.

Proper assessment.

It's not. Last season, depending on where you look, the average gate was either 4145 or 4049, this seasons is 3625 or 3663 (again depending where you look). The big away attendances we got last season were Oldham, Chesterfield and York who all came from Christmas onwards. The biggest away attendance in the first 8 last season was Gateshead with 412, we then played Maidenhead, Fylde, Wealdstone, Woking, Solihull, Dorking and Eastleigh who all don't bring big numbers (Total 979 from 8 games if you want the actual figure). This season we have had Halifax (319 away fans), Southend (302 away fans), as well as 155 from Rochdale on a Tuesday. Even with 18 fans from Braintree and 33 from Wealdstone we have still had more away fans (1055) this season than we did in the first 8 last season.

My apologies I've been looking at the wrong data, average is down about 500 per game this season. Still think that's not too bad considering the shite home form and performances and price increases.
Average will surely go up if we can start performing well at the Vic, it'll definitely fall over the winter if we don't.

Let's stop worrying about crowd sizes. Afterall we now have a new leader Auld Len aka Mr.Burns. By Christmas you will be lucky to get a ticket after 6 straight wins in a row. UTP & UMR.BURNS. bbolt

surely poolies are not fair weather fans who only turn out when the team is winning. what next a full support of the chairman and a go fund me page for old lennie losing his winter fuel payment.
