Sarl would be buzzing with that defensive performance from Pools, sadly it would be against Sutton and not Fiorentina

NO.

The bloke was shafted and with hindsight we all know why.
Signings shipped in that were abysmal but not his signings, a season primed for disaster.
No one’s saying bring him back, but he never stood a chance from day one….he was the fall guy.

Perhaps there is a fundamental problem with Pools that trashes managers at a high rate.

The fundamental problem is the owner at any club.
Owners want to succeed, but the real secret is your backroom staff, get that right and you’re taxiing down the runway.

yes when we join the league of wales. like so many managers they can do a good job at a certain level but not at another be it in the premier league or the northern league.

He never had a chance,a scapegoat, weren’t his signings. All I remember he was a disaster and everyone wanted rid of him. Funny how time changes views.

I always felt that way…oddly enough for me, he was shafted.
I stand by it still …..if you found yourself as a manager finding you had the crap he had dumped on you and told to make a go of it, you’d fail badly …..effortlessly

My mate interviewed him as part of his job, and he told him off record, "I didn't sign up for any of this shit". He was on a bum steer, when they interviewed Nicky Featherstone and went through the managers he's worked under,he said Craig Harrison was a very good manager just appointed at the wrong time.

will another club at our level or in the league take a punt on him though. it can never be an ideal time after a relegation or a previous manager getting the sack unless they have near unlimited funds.

His name never appears to be in the frame when a managerial job comes up in the lower leagues ?

That may be so, but Pools were in an awful run of form when he was sacked - 1 win and 9 losses in his last 13 games.

Relegation looked inevitable, but Matty Bates was appointed caretaker and managed 5 wins and only 4 losses in the last 13 games of the season - and 2 of those defeats were his first 2 games in charge after he took over from Harrison!

Just saying
