You are the chairman

Got a sum that's proving too hard for your grey matter? Ask the Stephen Hawkings of the Bunker and winner of the Fields Medal, I give you Mr Querty.

You are the chairman

You are the chairman of a football club and have to set a budget for your fitst team coach and chief execttive to build a squad for the coming season. Projected season ticket sales, sponsorship, advertising, tv and radio revenue, sales of beer and pies, shirts etc gives a turnover of £1million. You are allowed to spend 65% of turnover on player's salaries. Now answer the following:

a) How much money can you spend on player's wages
b) If you release 7 players who cost 33% of your budget how much money will you have
c) Alternatively you let the players go on holiday and you'll knock something together when they get back?
If you're not depressed you're not paying attention

To answer this you need to apply the Financial Rules of Modern Football, 1993 Edition

[With a] turnover of £1million. You are allowed to spend 65% of turnover on player's salaries. Now answer the following:

a) How much money can you spend on player's wages

As much as you like -- borrow the remainder from your tax account and let the next guy sort it out.

b) If you release 7 players who cost 33% of your budget how much money will you have

None, but it doesn't matter, because see a)

c) Alternatively you let the players go on holiday and you'll knock something together when they get back?

Well, why the hell not?

This is a time honoured tradition in modern football, and I don't see why you Poolies would expect it to be any different ;-)
