From the 'Play For Today' that was set in Hartlepool....

They are saying it was called....'Afternoon Off'....I'm not sure about that!!!! confised

I can remember the Scenes in Church Street getting shot....I was with my brothers and some of our mates....we ran through the Tunnel from Old Town after hearing there was a Film Crew there....we got told to stay out of 'shot' and if we did they would give us some sweets.... :coool:

We never did get any sweets!!!! rage

The scenes from Ridley Scott's film were done in April 1965, and we lived in Seaton Carew from that month onwards, which was the month I was born. It looks like something from Victorian England, yet it was at the start of my life and only a minutes walk from our house! Terrifying.

After been Swimming at The Baths we always went in the Museum....and if we were lucky the Blacksmith would be working!!!! :coool:

We then walked along to The Mail Office and had a look at the Photos on the side of the fence in the Cabinet thingy!!!! :coool:

We were easily pleased in them days!!!! :grin:

I recall a particularly odd pic in the Mail of the big pool 'empty' just after the baths was built. As a kid, I remember thinking it looked fookin HUGE and scary :shock:
