MRC Is moving to Hull on Sunday and I'll be in work digs until around the 26th October so no internet access unless they give me a Laptop and a wi-fi connection!

Even when I move into my flat in Hull I/We still wont have the t'interweb for a few months! Have you seen the price of renting in Hull after the floods?! CRAZY! Its not helping were in a nice part of Hull which is highly sought after like!

Today I left work, so now I have the t'interweb to play on while at home so my activity will be back to normal!

Cheers

MRC

Whereabouts in Hull are you going to be staying MRC? I lived in Walter Mitty Shithead Park off Beverley Road for a few years in the early 80s. Had a great time to be fair, like.

You been to 'Ull before like?

Is the Schnapps Bar still there?

LA's?

The Tower?

What about The Hull Cheese?

'Ull was always a cracking night out when I was at Uni down there a few years back.

Ive been to Hull the past few weekends, but not for a social affair, been sorting out a job and a flat - Both parts completed.

Not too sure about them places as i say it wasnt for nights out, that will wait until were all settled into the new flat, like.

Where were the best places to go for a night out?

Bev Road is the main road into the city centre from Beverley.

It's got loads of pubs.

The Bev Road Run is a popular affair- start off at The Haworth (Cottingham Road junction) and walk into the city having a pint in every pub.

The Haworth is dirt cheap, i got a large glass of Rose for her, and me a pint of stella and got change from £5!!!!! bargain!

decent food in there too!

you can only go so far down then you are in danger of losing your shoes and socks off the local skanks

The Haworth only changed to a Scream pub just before I left. It was better before that.

At about the same time they changed The Piper Club (Newlands Avenue) from a proper workies club to a similar Scream pub and totally ruined that too. They even scrapped the Sunday lunchtime strippers.

The best pub was The Mainbrace (Bev Road) but they screwed that up when they split it and turned half into a Brewer & Firkin type place and the other half into an Irish themed pub (the basis for Rotterdam by The Beautiful South for Mr ECG and friends).

Why not?

Get a taxi out of the city centre and then head back inwards. Cab will prob only cost about 2 or 3 quid tops.

I passed my driving test in Hull. Way back in March 1982.

ASMT Leconfield, possibly the worst military camp in the world. Full of passed over craphat junior NCOs who think they are the cream of the forces.

Piel, I'm beginning to think you must be my alter ego...first Walthamstow and now Hull. I used to live in Pendrill St and Ella Street when I was a student in 'Ull

PS Good luck Matty....sorry not to be able to arrange any more tickets for you

Oh, roughly 5 years after you were, I should think. People were still wandering round the campus with post traumatic stress, even then

Afternoon all,

Started the new job - I say started, but I have actually done little work yet - and all is well, Hull seems to be a nice place, people are real nice. Just got to put up with my boss being a Hull fan and one rep is a Leeds fan. Shame!
