OK............takes deep breath..................just thoughts.................breathe....................1..............2.....................3.......breathe:

1. Was I the only one alarmed and slightly embarrassed to witness Barker chasing a through ball........twice........only to be overtaken by the defenders with outrageous ease? It was like watching a milk float being overtaken by a Porsche.

2. James Brown is a striker. No doubt about it. He oozes quality.

3. Foley was out of his depth.

4. Porter looked more of a threat in 10 minutes than Barker and Moore did in 80.

5. Moore looked better out wide.

6. Coles wasnt fit enough to replace McCunnie............I will hold with an opinion on ability.

7. Playing coles and then replacing him with McCunnie was just screaming out as a wasted substitution.

8. The refusal to have a keeper on the bench will cost us dearly shortly.

9. Does the fact that we dont have a keeper on the bench suggets DW is unsure of his tactics and selections? You do not need 5 outfield subs.

10. Would Barker be better if he had Brown as his partner?

11. Ben Clark is a legend.

12. I believe Ben Clark will be handing in a transfer request shortly.

13. Joel Porter should as well.

14. Monkhouse was short of fitness on saturday. Was he injured?

15. Forest are not a good side.

16. It was three points wasted.

17. The first 20 minutes was embarrassing.

18. The defending for the two goals was laughable.

19. Liddle and Boland were very good.

20. I hate Nottingham.

you forgot to mention the pubs we went,(sorry tried) to go in!

Brown=having a stinker on the wing but when moved upfront Brown=Brilliant.

Likewise Moore, he was much better outwide.

Regarding Clark and Antwi, maybe if Liverpool get about 20 injuries to defenders, then we may be able to move up this league. sctatchinghead

Antwi is being asked to play a lot of games and he is incapeble of perfoming to a consistant high level every week. I don't see the point of loaning players that we appear unlikely to sign either, Antwi can be a good player but his development as a player should not be as a consiquence to Pools poor results. Wilson needs to sort this one, everyone can see it.....

agree on nearly all points here. Except point 20. Nottingham is marvellous.

You are quite correct my slanty eyed pal.

Thats the conundrum. Barker scored.....yet never looked like he would.

Porter came on and ran at the defence...........yet didnt score.

Bizarre but true.

I would be more concerned if Barker wasn't scoring and we couldn't buy a goal as was the case one year ago. Might be stating the obvious after the long and informed debates here but clearly we aren't coping with the class of striker that we're coming up against and most of the clubs in the third have one and sometimes two good strikers. It's probably the easiest division to name players who will score on a match day and has several contenders for golden boot come May.

I don't think the answer IS Ben Clark and you can talk about 23 clean sheets last year if you want, but I've said already, keeping Accrington and Boston at bay isn't the same box of frogs (excusing your presence Monty) as Leeds and Forest. Give him a go by all means but don't get down his throat if it doesn't work out.

Incidentally, no-one has yet managed what Shrewsbury Town did this time last year and hit us for three without reply straight through Clark, Nelson and Dimi. There's not very much wrong.

confuscious say
just because it is a thinking mans game
there is no need to think that hard about it
one year on and a differant division dont know how many new players in the squad
we knew it would not be easy
now we are finding that out
go to the codyakker church and
keep the faith
