I smashed the screen onmy phone last weekend so am using an old handset at the minute until I get round to getting a cotract phone.
Im thinking of going with three on £15 a month, they give enough texts & minutes for my needs & I like the sound of the Sony Ericsson Z610i mainly coz its a flip phone so the screen & buttons are hidden & protected from my clumsiness.
Anyone got aclue if these phones or this network are any good ?

ive recently got my 1st sony ericsson a k810i and im impressed with it after having nokia's previously. i've heard a few different things about 3 ie poor coverage but i think most of the mobile companies now share masts, i'm on orange and sometimes i struggle to get a signal.

Not a clue about the phone but when you get your contract, you will get a 14 day cooling off period. In that period, ensure you ring them up and you are thinking about cancelling as you found a better deal. Most phone companies will then increase your minutes and texts or reduce your monthly payment.

I've heard nothing but complaints about 3 though when I worked for Orange a couple of years back. I personally wouldn't touch them. All their call centres were in India, their reception was poor and the deals they offer are nothing to get excited about.

Whatever you do, never sign a contract with 3.

Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever,

I'm with the tax dodgin southerner on this one.

Don't touch three with your life, there customer service is shite, call centres in india, reading off a script and are no help at all.

If your looking for a deal, go to orange or vodafone and get unlimited texts and 500 mins for about 30 squid a month, you know for a fact you will never go over your allocated mins and messages and the reception on both of them is pretty good no matter where you are.

I'm on my second '3' contract now and haven't had any problems. I dropped my phone at Oval during the Test match against India and smashed the screen to fook (I'd only had two pints honest!) and I'd just cancelled my insurance with three months left on my contract confised

Yes the call centre was in India but the customer service I received was fantastic, they upgraded me three months early and gave me a new Nokia 6120 for nowt AND gave me a better price plan which is £20 cheaper than I was paying. I get no problem with reception either, better than I got with T Mobile anyway.

Orange are based in several call centres in the North East of England not the friggin Punjab. I've never had a problem getting through to them.

All the companies are a much of a muchness, the poor signal with 3 is nothing short of a myth - it's the same as any other company in my opinion, sometimes good, sometimes poor.... You can sometimes get better deals from the paper than the high st though....

3 piggyback onto the Orange network, so signal shouldn't be an issue anymore - that said, the customer service is shite - if you do need to speak to someone it's in india and scripted so you really get no customer service at all
