Funny you should mention the pitch. Lad I work with has come in this morning and said he watched the match and was well impressed with how our pitch looked and said our ground was looking good. :)

That'll be something else for people to blame IOR and Ken Hodcroft for, won't it.

Depends. Some people consider IOR synonymous with KH.

But there again, who else makes the decisions?

Some royalty in as well, McClaren and Roy Keane. Plenty of mentions of the town on Sky as well to keep us on the map. Just as well with the dross the team are serving up at home.....

im not sure what goes on in that buiding generally (the one west used as a scoreboard during their brief tenure) but for live games it seems to be where the tv presenters go to give their pre/post match and half time expert opinion.

in the mill house / town end corner? I thought that was where the rozzers watched everyone on CCTV, like the control centre or something? I didn't think they Sky sports used it.

Didn't Paul Mullen work full time as Media Manager?

Although if there was somebody with a keen enough interest, who say wrote for the programme already, who would provide a link between fans and club foc... :?

But at the end of the day I thought that was what the clueless cnt Stimpson was getting paid for already

Asking a lot to take on that mantle also don't forget that Paul Mullen was there pre-IOR/KH. I can't imagine them taking on anyone in a similar semi official capacity these days.

even the match programmes at 2 quid a pop were attractively priced.

Even though the centre spread re Victoria Parks History got the name of the "temporary stand" wrong but there is two to pick from good research by the author not!

Was I the only one who got stuck infront of a whole family of Borer fans banging on how its nice to come to the little clubs now and again and to top it off they were all from F@@king Hartlepool rage rage

That's strange Chip - I to have kept Pauls number on my mobile and it makes me smile and reflect (well I am a social worker) when I see it.

last saturday i was talking to a scouse lad, now living in the town, who had been to the club to get a couple of tickets for that afternoons game. he was told he couldnt buy the tickets as he wasnt on the database, but he could come back 3 hours later the same day and just pay on the gate. we have all heard these stories, or had grief from the club shop

I always thought the idea of a database of fans info was for commercial purposes, i.e. to sell us more stuff through the post, and on the odd occassion we need to make sure no riff raff from other clubs can get into other parts of the ground on the occasional sell out day. So why does the club use it as an excuse not to sell tickets to genuine 'spur of the moment' fans. Tesco don't say to a visitor they haven't seen before - 'have you got one of our penny in the pound Clubcards', 'No?', 'sorry you can't shop here then'.
